Child actors and Disney stars grow up having identity crisis and trauma. BUT they are acting and it’s staged. Imagine having your parents as your manager and not feeling safe in your own home. Not knowing if your parents will wake you up with a prank and cameras in your face.

This shit is so weird and dark. These kids grow up without a moment of authenticity or real emotion in their lives, zero real connection to their protective and nurturing figures in their lives. Also, these families have more and more children BECAUSE of their channels, because they know it'll boost the channel, so whether its conscious or subconscious they are getting pregnant and having babies just for the channel... not out of love. Its gross on every level and these children will grow up traumatised by this behaviour. Thats a psychological fact. A child is in the most critical period of development in their lives at these stages and looking into and speaking to a camera lens throughout the entirety of their childhood, in their own homes, and their own BEDROOMS, what is supposed to be their private, safe space, is NOT normal.

maybe this is just my undergrad psych student disease talking, but every time i start thinking "who could possibly be watching and enjoying family vlog content" when i see a callout video about the ace family or whatever, i hear the parents go "thank you for subscribing, thank you for supporting us, we love you guys so much, our subscribers are all part of our family, every single one, ESPECIALLY if you support us by buying our new merch" and i picture kids out there with terrible home lives and absent parents who keep coming back to the ace family on some level because austin and catherine ace will always tell the kid they love them when their real parents won't. i'd be willing to bet that if you go into their comments section you'll see a bunch of 8 year olds commenting "you guys are so cute i wish you were my parents" which seems like a compliment on the surface but if you think about it for more than a few seconds it just gets really sad. the ace family or the royalty family or whoever don't actually care at all about their subscribers and it's not a healthy family dynamic to exploit your kids for money and views. they milk the sad parasocial relationship they have with their 10 yr old fanbase for money and clout. it probably seems harmless on the surface but young kids are so, so easily influenced by what behaviors are modeled for them, especially in people they perceive as parental/authority figures. idk i'm probably just an oversensitive snowflake but it really just makes me sad.

There was this family channel that adopted a kid with autism from China and they already had a bunch of kids; not only would the parents do "family time" w their biological kids after sending the boy to bed, effectively shunning, him but also there were times in which the mom filmed him "throwing fits" when in reality it was basically him having sensory overloads bc of his autism and she would just dismiss it and leave him to cry out. It was a pretty big case about a year ago bc they ended up giving him up, or as they said in their own video "having to REHOME him". The absolute gall of this people. Sucks that they basically neglected the little boy and caused him more trauma but I guess I'm glad he's no longer being pimped out for views on youtube. Tom Harlock made a pretty lenghty video about the subject.

New money people who got their wealth recently out of insecurities tend to buy flashy name brand in order to apear wealthy. Ironicly proving their previous broke status. Most social media stars are classic new money.
Old money are people who had their money for generations. They tend to hide the fact that they are rich since people act fake or scam them. Old money clothing brands are insanely subtle and exclusive. most people have probably never heard of them.
Like Chanel a brand that sells to both for exsample will sell the junky stuff made in a factory to new money folks in their store. like a cheeply made $300 belt. While having exlusive runway shows that they only invite old money insiders. who get to customize and simplify the clothes and accesories after purchase. That cost an entire semester at college. Chanel is a handbag company traditionly.
The terms that the fashion industry use are.

I’m scared to see how some of these kids turn out when they grow up. This gives me exploited child actor vibes but this is more worrying because their home is the set.

That Royalty Fam kid has such dead eyes.
Reminds me of Drew Gooden's Mary-Kate and Ashley video and how both girls ended up regretting their childhoods because they were just kind of forced to only act and be famous instead of being actual kids

I definitely feel "child actor" vibes but I've never thought of the sets being their home...that's a good point. Sad too :/

These kids probably never get genuine interactions with their parents. It sucks to see that when their kid is crying their first instinct is to grab a camera not comfort the kid. Nice to see that these parents see their kids as financial opportunities instead of real human beings.

Exactly. I've seen family vlogs like "our son got sick we had to call ambulance" bro it's like the child bleeds and the parents are like aight let me go grab the camera real quick. It's so sick and disgusting.

I think the biggest issue with growing up as a family vlog child would be that psychologically, you would eventually end up thinking your life isn't your own, but your parents' viewers.
You would have parents that see you through a monetary lense from behind a camera, knowing that what's important isn't you, nor your family, but your monetary worth.
When these kids become teenagers or mature in ways the parents don't find is good enough for the camera, they will have no value in their parents' eyes. It might not happen that way, but they will certainly think it will, what with how catastrophic teenagers going through puberty are.
They have no intimacy, their slightest mistake isn't turned into a lesson, but displayed for the world to see and watch and mock and turned into humiliation. They will stop being able to trust their parents with any intimate questions nor ask them for advice because it will always be pushed onto the internet.
These kids could end up several ways. They could end up being spoilt and warped into thinking they can buy people's affection with gifts and money, since their parents did the same. They could end up never being able to fully trust people or open up, because who knows if this kid wants to be friends or just wants to be seen with someone famous, who creepily knows more about your life than you do?
At any rate, they're going to end up rebelling very aggressively.
This is what happens to most child actors, for almost the same reason.
I love you because you make me money. If you don't make anymore money, I will guilt trip you into making me love you again.
Edit: yeah i fucking hate family vlog channels lmao

Filming something to be seen by others takes you out of that moment, at least to some extent....
A family vlog channel basically means that you have parents who are there, but *not there*, for the majority of your childhood, family time, and life events.
