This song hit me hard...especially at 2:48 "Cherubim, Seraphim, soon..." That implies the angels that will carry the souls of the orphans into heaven ...Then came the shot of fire at 2:57 that symbolizes War...then...flowers that represent what the orphans will see in heaven...
the part that hits hardest for me the most is at the end “i want to be with you until the whole world ends” represented what orphans of war would say to eachother😔

This song aged like fine wine. I still remember the day it released; a beautiful, uplifting, visceral time for all of us - a time of rejoicing.
Mentally, I've had a really rough 2019. lots of really low points, the lowest in my entire life. Things have recently started to come back up, lots of positives happening. I don't know what it is about Chris Martin, and the rest of the Coldplay gang.. but I cant tell you the last time a song gave me a shot of the chills. this one did. As a Syrian who witnessed almost every bad side/affect of the war and saw people dying/getting hurt/ children dropping out from school/ loosing their parents/ forced to travel to other countries, this song said it all.
I hope now people understand that Syrians are not terrorists but victims and I hope people now start to treat Syrian immigrants differently because they were forced to leave their homes💔 it pains me to say that my childhood memories were full of blood/crops/catastrophic views/horrible horrific days and I totally relate to this song . I pray to all the people who lost their loved ones/homes and had to face that whole horrible situation. Syrian and proud ♥️🙏

I just learned the interpretation of this song and it makes me so sad. The song is about Rosaline of Damascene (Damascus, Syria) who went "indigo up in heaven" in the bombings led by US, UK, France in 2018. Baba is her father who's also killed. There's also a reference to angels in Arabic mythology and so on.

My 2019 has been going swimmingly...for the most part (I have had some very black moments but they all hit at the beginning of the year, I’m in a better place now.)
But as for the Coldplay statement, I’m actually surprised by them. I hated their last album (no offence to them) because it definitely wasn’t for me. But this song is such a callback to classic Coldplay. I love it. It takes me way back to a much better time in the early 2000’s where the world made sense and everything felt right (at least for an Australian.) I’m so thankful that they’ve drawn from their past finally and created a song with just enough experimentation and classic staples to forge something familiar yet unique.
I’m hoping the whole Album is like this, I really did want the old Coldplay back.
