I use to play Coldplay to my belly before my daughter was born. It was the only thing she liked to hear me sing when she was an infant and parachutes was the only thing that could get her to sleep. She is 8 today and still the biggest fan. I am so extremely grateful to share these sentimental moments with my children because of the music 🥺❤️

@@teukuferal466 You are absolutely correct. This lyrics in the song are quite specific and there is no ambiguity whatsoever. Chris Martin is referring to the Japanese divinity Jizo Bodhisattva (Ojizo-sama - saint of the Mahayana Buddhist tradition), who protects deceased infants by hiding them under his robes and sings to distract demons while guiding the children past purgatory and safely to salvation. The lyrics of the song have a spiritual depth in that when she cries, he will be as close [to her] as Jizo Bodhisatvva is to those in his care. I've heard the song performed live three times and in countless other renditions. The lyrics have never changed - ever, and they aren't meant to because it would destroy the very meaning of the song itself.

Omg the wardrobe for the mid-life segment is so VIVACIOUS! I love that in comparison to the mute tones in the young couple. I love that it paints that time as the prime and ripening of one's life and not the immediate loss and fading of youth (as I feel with every other media ever)... the gold!!! the depth of colours and textures are so delicious to see representing an imagined middle age

The lyrics are so simple but this songs deep if anyone reflects the meaning, “don’t want to hurt each other I’ll be by your side when you cry cry cry” because life’s not easy, yet remaining by someone’s side and how someone is everything for someone else that they grow old together.
