Too many singeplayer forced cutcenes and then one has to go out of their mission and sos join the other.
And also the main story takes like 48 hours. ( w/o) Iceborne.

@@virave no prob. Since you mentioned what you played, RE6 is also a good Co-op game though its regarded as a "bad" Resident Evil.
It's only "bad" because it tried doing too much (4 different campaigns) each with a style that tried catering to different crowds with a scatter shot effort.
Since i liked all those play styles it wasn't an issue.
These days they tend to sell the games in packs digitally speaking.There is the main title "all in one pack" that will do either 1-6 or may include 1-7 as well as smaller ones, usually divided into the playing genre IE 1-3 survival horror, 4-6 Action Horror.
If you want good co-op games consider 5, 6, Revelations 1 and 2 and if you want Survival Horror solo games, you should try Code Veronica X (considered the TRUE RE3 by some but its got its issues) though its often left out of packs, try out RE0 too but be warned its on the harder side and if you liked 7 and are able, try 8.
If you are desperate for co-op and don't mind playing really bad games then consider Operation Raccoon City, co-op, has you play as Umbrella Special Forces during RE2-3 T
timeline, which sounds great but was terribly done.
If you like local co-op and own a wii you can try Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles- both are rail shooters but each covers some of the other games as well as original content, but don't expect deep lore or anything.
And finally, you mentioned having played 1 and 2 but have you or did you play their Remakes or Original games?
They are solo games but RE1 Remake was fantastic, as was RE2s and RE3 also has one (though not as good imo)
Also but you may or may not know that they are currently working on a RE4 Remake so keep your eyes out for it in next year or two.
One more thing on RE5, the partner AI is garbage so be warned if you play solo.
Sorry that was long but hopefully that will help, always looking to get more folks into RE games .

9:00 I remember farming that licker area so much for easy cash (after completing the game)
then once every 5-6 runs one would clip face down ass up into the ground and not show their tiddy-heart weakpoint until you flinched them (or they did the leap attack)
I loved this game but the RE4 (make everything as silly as possible) influence was pushed beyond the breaking point. oddly enough the meta-gear-system and checkpoints were something a lot of people complained about but I loved it, just the 3x3 inventory put a lot of limits on builds as once you have 2-3 weapons, 2-3 types of ammo and a heal you couldn't pick anything else up be it single bullet, rocket-launcher or body armour.

In my opinion, this is the best way to experience Resident Evil 5. I don't have to deal with the jank of the quick time events, I get to experience the more important parts of the story, but the quick version, and I get to enjoy the banter between Mousey and Connor. This is the ultimate experience.
