Water to me has almost always been the best starter. And in the case of Mudkip, I think it's water and ground type? So that makes it even sturdier.

@@kvs4115 Piplup is a great starter, don't get me wrong, but the main issue is that Gen 4 has barely any fire types, and if you're doing a nuzlocke for it you either need to get Chimchar as your starter, or be very lucky with the RNG in areas where fire types spawn

Gen 6 and later games are easier to Nuzlocke thanks to the existence of the XP share item. Oh, and TMs are reusable too. Less important but I thought I'd mention this, the shiny odds in Gen 6 onwards are higher. It's currently about 1 in 4000 instead of 1 in 8000

@provis345 p You realize every game had 2-3 games per release right? Gen 1 was Red, blue, and yellow in 1996. Then Gold, Silver, and Crystal (1999). Then Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald (2002). Then Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum (2006). Then they started releasing em in 2's with Black and White, Black and White 2, Sun and Moon ect. This is all common knowledge dude

I actually went back and rewatched all of your Nuzlock videos, with the first in the series now being my last, lol. Of all of them, I think this is your most difficult. Randomizing everything sounds like it would be harder, but given there are more basic or 2nd evolution Pokemon than there are 3rd forms and legendaries, it usually means the computer has a lot of easy Pokemon to fight against with maybe one that you need to be careful with.
However, when doing a Nuzlock where, say, you know the Elite Four is going to be tough as nails with their original Pokemon but you've been limited in what Pokemon you can catch, I think that makes it much harder. The other Nuzlocks are okay for entertainment, I suppose, but the original version is the most difficult.
I loved the Soul Link version you did with Mouse as well! I'm tempted to see if my two siblings might be interested in all of us doing a Soul Link run. I think that would be an amazing challenge if you haven't already done that yet (though getting two people to sync up with you over several days ain't easy. My siblings and I are all adults with jobs, so free time is a little limited. But as streamers, it could be an amazing collab).
