Odin's portrayal in this was astonishing. With how Mimir told his stories back in 2018, I always conceived him as serious and cold. But this was far beyond my expectations. He was amusing and seemed to be a chill God, but on the inside, he was manipulative with his phony acts of kindness. By far, this game has been the best representation of Norse mythology.

I love how in this game, the final two bosses, the biggest threats, Thor and Odin, aren’t murdered by Kratos. He was always known as a god killer, and throughout the games he’s told he’ll never be able to change. But this time around, he defeated Thor himself and convinced him to stop fighting, and he fought Odin while letting his family deliver the killing blow. He really did change.
I mean not really, he did kill Heimdall.

But in that shrine, he sees that People in here worshipped him as a God instead of fearing him. That is what made Kratos cry in happiness and satisfaction. My heart melted at that point.

I thought it was so sweet that Atreus fell asleep during his fathers story. He couldn’t sleep in his own tent but just by being near his dad he was able to sleep. Even though there is a war, his presence alone was able to relax him.

The character development was on another level. Even the characters who didn't get as much screen time, such as Freyer or Angrboda had AMAZING characterization. I can't believe I fell in love with someone's glorified OC 😭

Kratos seeing the prophecy of him being bowed to made me break down into tears so fast. In all of the games, in all of his years of life he never believed he'd be worshipped or be prayed to. Odin himself put these thoughts into Kratos' mind about how Kratos has never known what it was like to be a God someone looks up to, worships or prays to. Kratos has always believed he was a monster all his life and now, he finally saw a prophecy that shows him he is a God who is worth being prayed to and loved. That hit me so hard

A lot of stories can and have fallen apart because of the “endless possibilities” and hours long gameplay which is why I said what I said :) Most people wouldn’t know how to finish such an epic story and a lot of games have endings that leave us disappointed.

It evoked so much emotions in those who watched it. I remember when I saw it in theaters and I still remember how the crowd reacted.
Story development isn’t solely based on time limits, budget, cast, etc. it’s within in the beauty of the writer(s)’ mind. You don’t always need tons of hours or words to develop a good story. Plus, I said what I said because this game made me feel like I was watching a movie. A lot of movie directors crossover into the gaming world, so though you may say one is an orange, and the other is an apple, they both are fruit ✨

I think it’s more the peace and the love aspect that made him cry. Spartans worshipped him yes but it wasn’t out of love.
The way I interpret the mural is that here he’s seen as a hero and loved by people, as the God of War who brought peace not the one who brought destruction; kinda similar to Tyr.
I interpreted it as a beautifully sharp contrast to how he was depicted on the vase in the previous game.
the fact that cory not only recorded every single episode but also edited those episodes for hours on end, making every video amazing quality, this is why cory is the best youtuber on this website
