This song describes Yoongi (AgustD's real name) being born as a slave, a peasant, in the ditches. The scar on his face shows the battles he's been through. Now as a king he boasts about everything that he has. He's self-absorbed and cocky. Literally standing on those beneath him. This king has completely forgotten where he came from and that was by choice. Only wanting to bask in the glory of now but with that mindset comes complacency and thinking there is nowhere to climb, not seeing others as threats and thinking he's untouchable. That's why the king sees the peasant coming, he laughs him off. Then he gives an order to his follower to end the slave. But he doesn't, the same followers that he once stood and looked down upon have now turned against him. The king was complacent at the top, not innovating, not challenging himself, not improving in any aspect. So when the time came his old ways (the sword), were no match for the future (the gun).
The king is the cocky agust d and the slave is the humble yoongi.

For those who don't know:
*Min Yoongi is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, and record producer that goes by Agust D on his solowork.*
Yoongi is also one of the three rappers in the South Korean group BTS + one of their producers and songwrighters and goes by Suga with BTS etc.
Min Yoongi was a undergroud rapper before joining the company Big Hit Entertainment to be a producer but then became part of the group BTS along with 6 other people (2 other rappers & 4 vocalists) when BTS was formed and they make music in all sorts of genres.
The fact hat some people are going in just thinking kpop or boyband about BTS and Yoongi and that the rappers in BTS aren't "real rappers" just show they have no real idea who BTS are or their backgrounds and probably will be surpriced.
The BTS members are all different multitalants and the group members all can sing or rap or both and dance and wrights music. But BTS members have a mix of talents like some are well educated dancers in different genras and/or songwrighters and/or producers and/or singers and/or rappers and/or can play different instruments etc etc.
Min Yoongi still does solowork outside of BTS as both a songwrighter and producer for other artists and sometimes collabs as a rapper then usually under the name Suga and he does his own solo music too like this as Agust D.
The building you see in the MV is a palace and you see him dressed as a king.
Deachwita is music that is played during the ceremonial walk of the King and army music.

Agust D and Suga from BTS are the same person. Agust D is an alias that he goes by when he releases his own independent solo works. He released his first album called Agust D in 2016, and he just recently dropped a new album called D-2 along with the music video you watched. He has great passion for hip hop music and is not only a talented rapper but also a producer (he produced all 10 tracks in the album). The entire D-2 album is phenomenal, would highly recommend checking them out. I would also recommend checking out English translations to the lyrics since most of them are in Korean (Genius.com is a good source)

Interesting how you got that self reflection thing without substitles. AGUSTD has layers of complexities, that we know. Now Yoongi (SUGA of BTS) himself mentioned that blonde AGUSTD is rage and the black haired AGUSTD also has another name/characteritics which he may reveal in his next mixtape. I will hold on to that bit of clue until he releases that mixtape.

There are several theories regarding the song and MV and all of them plausible. I think it is up to how you see it yourself. Firstly The word refers to a type of Korean music that is played when the army marches to war. It means ‘a blow or hard hit’ I believe. His past self and current self are fighting for dominance. In his last mixtape he says that Min Yoongi (his birth name) was killed off by Suga (his stage name in BTS) but here we have his true self kill off the King and his ruthless dominance.
I have seen some Army make reference to Suga actually descending from a royal bloodline. Something I didn’t know but hey we are always learning.
The garment he is wearing is actually the type that was worn by Kings and during the time, anyone who had a scar could never be king or queen. The fact that he has one proves how powerful he is. However note that some fans have said that if a king suffered scars as a result of war this would be an entirely different case. Anyways this guy is a savage 😎🔥
Some Korean fans have said that the real king kills the fake king in the end because the scar on the tyrant blind king seems fresher whereas on the other it appears to have healed. A pact was formed with the executioner to kill the fake tyrant self absorbed king before the intended beheading. The black figures are said to be the the BTS fandom (Army) who help keep Suga: Agust D in check. He knows where he came from, he knows his roots and will not have fame distort his origins and reality.

This is AgustD and he's flexin' since 2016. Leave it to AgustD to bring a Gun to a Sword Fight He's FIRE!!!! "Daechwita" is steeped in Korean tradition. Daechwita is the music played when the KING is entering a room or in a percession. “Daechwita” is a showdown between two Agust Ds-one a king and one a rebel gang leader. The king rules with no mercy as he sentences dozens of people to death by beheading them and then collecting heads as trophies. The rebel challenges his rule and methods but is captured and sentenced to death. He is saved from execution however, as it is implied he knew the executioner at the start of the video to spare him and hand him a gun, with which he finally shoots and takes down the despot king. AgustD shows his talents as he welds an ancient sword while performing "Geommu", a traditional sword dance. Geommu was the dance performed for Kings & Queens.AgustD I’m a king I’m a boss/Remember my name.” It’s a vicious and satisfying take down of all of Agust D’s haters, calling out critics and other rappers who dare challenge him. Can you imagine 60 thousand ARMY's head banging to this song in concert? Me too!
