I live in the Adirondacks of upstate NY and every year we have at least 10 days below Zero, feet of snow on the ground from December to April, and lakes and ponds are frozen all year round thick enough for ATV’s and snowmachines. Maybe it is that big of a difference on the coast, I’m really not that sure, not to mention the elevation factor

I used to hand crank ice holes in ice like that. Would be on my knees chest to the crank trying to squeeze out the last few inches before running out of drill. I bought a propane auger now so smooth sailing. No more 10 minutes of busting my ass for 1 hole.
