Guy is charasmatic. Pretty good at telling people they dont look like a 10 and still leaving in a good mood.
Absolutely. Confident stance, no stuttering or ummm, uhhh pauses. Confidence does SOOOO much
I feel like even if he gave me a one, he'd make me feel good about it somehow
I think itβs also because he never says someone isnβt good looking. Heβs focusing completely on βmarketabilityβ which makes it a lot less personal to the people hearing they wouldnβt find work in the industry. And as he says, his personal opinion is very different from his job, and he refrains from sharing personal opinions. Just very professional, which means the people he talks to will also be more professional.
Hmm. Yeah I'll give him about a 6. Could see him working for a youtube video sometime.
yeah
He's showing how marketable someone is, not how attractive they are. Two different things. He even said it, yet y'all didn't get the memo when writing the title.
Fr
They wanted him to rate βattractivenessβ but this dude is so professional, he chose to rephrase it to βmarketability.β I respect him so much for his professionalism.
Well, connotatively we take "attractiveness" as just appearance, but being attractive is quite literally 'do you attract people' which makes it pretty much synonymous with "marketability" in this context, 'do you attract people, but in a business way'
He did rate some of them based on his opinion of attractiveness and the channel know that people are more likely to click on it with the title they chose
I mean attractiveness is very subjective. Whatβs attractive to one may not be to another. Thatβs why I feel like he did it from a marketing standpoint. So itβs easier to gauge what your judging.
I adore how he reenforces the difference between attractiveness and marketability. Sure, he could be "brutally honest" and a jerk, but instead he's upfront about career success without tearing down people's self image. There's beautiful qualities in everyone, even if they're not walking in NYFW
My brain read NYFW as NSFW so I was like "Wow, that escalated quickly?!"
Exactly.
β@@ellas.2744Be careful, my friend. That could be a sog of p**n addiction...
He is still talking about attractiveness, just with a different framing to not get people upset, and it works.
@@manuelp7472 you're correct. It's the unfortunate truth of the modeling industry as it stands. Are people beautiful in their own way? Sure. Do we, as individuals, find certain people more or less attractive, sometimes outside the expectations? Yes, of course. But the harsh truth about modeling is that it's a very narrow market that struggles to accept people with atypical features.
This guy has the tact and charisma to be honest without being cruel, which is a rare talent.
I love that he boosted everyone's confidence and was positive about them, even if he was essentially saying no.
Here is a man who realises he holds the power to make or break someone's self esteem. Bless him for being straight forward but extremely kind.
Yeah. Now compare that to the "Former Model ranks strangers' attractiveness" video... She was rude af. People defended her saying that's just how this industry is... No. This man here had class and proved that not everyone in this industry is disgusting.
@@Nutzername92a yeah you're right. The way she ranked them just wasn't good.
@@Nutzername92a she was definitely brutally honest but she wasn't rude. not once did she criticise things that people couldn't change (height, features, proportions,,,), she only pointed out what they could change and how π€·ββοΈ
@@Nutzername92a yeahh in my opinion, she was pretty biased and didn't look for the most important value which is the 'marketability'.
@@joseanurkkalainen2832 She literally told people "You HAVE TO this, you HAVE TO that". She presented her opinions as if she's speaking the ultimate truth. And even said stuff like "You can do that at home, not here", like wtf.
This gentleman phrased his suggestions completely differently. Note how he said "I would say let's take out the piercing" and he made it very clear that it's about marketability and not his own opinion. Phrasing is everything and you can see it by how different the people reacted.
His judgments are nicer than my compliments.

The girl with the Scarf is the perfect example of someone objectively really pretty that either don't like to show it, or have a low-self esteem and don't believe it
I expected this to be terrible and objectifying and clicked on it in the same mindset as "I can't look away from the carcrash", and I am glad I clicked. This was tasteful, direct, blunt, constructive and not objectifying at all, the tone was professional and it was clearly just about the job and not about what's pretty and what's not.

He is unafraid to tell the truth and his thoughts directly but says it with such grace and frames it in a way that everyone can walk out with at least one thing to be confident about themselves in and IF they wanted to get into the fashion industry, at least one thing to work on as well. Well done and super informative video! :)
I always thought for him to be a ENFJ
Stop trying to assign people Myers Briggs types. God thatβs so cringe. Are you able to interact with other humans in a normal way at all? Or are you really so obsessed with placing them into neat little boxes as if that somehow reflects your intelligence? Ughβ¦
This guy is so LSE so1 through socionics, the TeSi sensoric orientation could not be more obvious. I donβt see the Ni ego attachment to time, but I could see LIEs opportunism but his judgements are all well thought out and lack TeNi asuumptiventess/rushing
mbti is astrology for atheists
Good assessment actually. I am an ENTJ, and you nailed it. βΊοΈ
Model scout: Would he do high fashion? No
Guy: :/
Model scout: Would he be the guy in home depot loading the big machines? Definetly
Guy: :D
Right?! That was so cute
I'm proud for that guy
Lmao I love this
LMAO! I read this comment before watching the video! Hilarious!
holy shit thanks for the subtitles i was actually deaf at the time and really needed this comment -_-
I give the scouting guy a 10. He knows how to be honest in a polite but direct way.
Not to mention he's super attractive and well-dressed
Well dressed is a must for this industry as is polished and out together

same
He's ugly but he's nice
Man this guy carries himself with style. And not appareance wise alone but just his confidence. I would honestly loved to be evaluated by him
Its not easy rating someone looks without offending them. This guy was smooth
The two dudes he ranked high really did look like they'd already been in a magazine.
Yes they did
It's crazy but also show how professional the judge is π
Because there is no variety in the magazines
Shows how qualified and professional this model scout is he has an eye for that shit
@@Astarrrrr apparently 4.9k other people have an eye for it as well. It's not that hard to tell whether or not someone is attractive
I think we should hire this man to just go around and boost everyoneβs self esteem
I am your 900th like

Ya he will make my self esteem fly to 1000
Kudos to all the people who put themselves out there to be publicly rated!
Takes some courage and confidence
Asian guy: walks on
Scout: "That's a yes"
Asian guy: O_O
Tbf the asian guy was HOT. Like no question asked. Undisputedly hot. If i were on tinder he would ve been a super like automatically
He looks like Markiplier with short hair.
The Asian guy got hyped up by both him and the other lady, his self esteem must be flying high after this π
I mean the guy deserved that lol, no cap he looks like God himself sculpted a being.
@@ZhongXinabingchilling Im wiith you there, I gasped when he walked on π€£
I really like this guy... wouldnβt mind being judged by him
He's upfront and realistic
@@helloyou3429 It's because he always complimented everyone's, or almost everyone's, smile. He was good at picking out people's strengths while noting their weaknesses. Plus he talked faster than most. I feel like someone insulting you in fast forward is better than someone insulting you in slow motion. Ahh he also phrased in such a way that said "it's not that I'm saying you're not attractive, you are, at least to someone out there, your fate just doesn't lie in the modelling industry".
@@Tania-fx4uz good ol sandwich technique. Say a load of crap at the start and end (bread) then in the middle say the nitty gritty real stuff (the meat).
What I like most is he's very calm when he talks. It's pleasant to listen to. Doesn't run around the boat but just gives you a peddle to work with. I wouldn't 'mind either and I have some serious confidence issues..
Because he's not judging them. You would just be validated by him.
The "harajuku" woman was adorable.
She looks like the type who wears nerdy clothes, but would look really good in a dress.
She looks like a Karen to me
this is like the most straightforward guy and I'm honestly living for it
I like that he highlights society standards of what would make money in fashion and beauty....and that it doesn't necessarily line up with what HE finds attractive (which is REALITY). Throws a bit of realism into an otherwise semi-rough ask for an episode lmao.
