When the beat dropped on this song(1:00), I automatically got out of bed and started dancing. It was like my legs were moving on their own or something. It was weird because I've been paralyzed from the waist down for the past 14 years.

No they didn't go home, they continued partying at the house and, drank more alcohol, and beer, and smoked their weed and raved on!
"I don't think it's the music they're after, it's the parties. They pretend it's drugs, but it's not the only thing. Drugs are everywhere. They don't understand this music which is really violent and repetitive, which is house; they consider it dumb and stupid." Bangalter
i just want to say, you have a great music taste. ive seen you on a lot of comment sections and want to tell you that you're an amazing guy.
led zeppelin, daft punk, you name it, ive seen you there
I saw that on the wikipedia page for this song too
I think it has something to do with the fact that they've been brainwashed to be mindless robots toiling away and contributing to the inner workings of corrupt system that keeps getting worse, parties represent freedom to them, and they wish they could be free. So in turn, they rail against youth culture.
I say fuck 'em. We're what make the world change, not these old fucks.
Not all old fucks are the type described here, though.

I... I just can't believe it...
Here's some context: Years ago, I was listening to some music in the radio, and it was giving a hour or so of EDM music. And they played this song, and I enjoyed it. However, that timeslot was taken away and I couldn't figure out the song's origin. For a long time I searched around, trying to find this song and failing miserably.
You can imagine my surprise when, less than a week ago, I randomly chose a Daft Punk compilation to listen and found this song among said compilation. My mind was blown to the stratosphere with this revelation.
That's why Shazam exists (the app)

Couldn't. It sounds purely 90s

you're so wrong. sounds 90s, nothing else.
He means that a kid could legit just hop on a laptop now a days and make a beat. There are A LOT more beat producers and stuff like that today. But Daft Punk was like one of the only people to be able to do it back way when. Which was pretty remarkable.
Gungnir77 ...🎵
the song was named after 2 (maybe 3) things
1. the roland 909 (drum machine used in this song)
2. daft punk saying that there should be a revolution against the government because of the government is too ignorant that techno/house music parties are not all about drugs. (this is based off what thomas bangalter said)
3. The Beatles - Revolution 9
interesting
Huh
Probably a mix of 1 and 3
What about not liking the 808 drum set and doing their own revolution in drum sets, hehe
I assumed it from the beginning. thanks a
lot
It's amazing how stupidly it took us 25 years to find a sample of this song, and how good it still sounds today.
I was just looking for what song sample was in some flash game called Squares 2. Didn’t even know it was a real song 0.0

Thank you for everything, you guys did, you will truly be missed Daft Punk. Yes actually I am feeling in clouds too
This song gets me into a trance, but I wouldn't describe the feeling as ''gliding above the clouds looking down on the world'', that fits Voyager better imho.
@@quadpad_music Voyager, coincidentally, has more or a spacey feel for me. I feel like I'm Spike from Cow Bebop cruising around space in the Swordfish :P
@@rotatingglasssafe Coincidentally, the guy that's the main focus of the Voyager scene in Interstella kinda 5555 looks like Spike. Maybe it's some sort of unconscious association.

Is the drum machine pattern from 3:10 to 3:17 the sample looped to make the drumbeat on the Cher song 'Believe'? I looked up 'Believe' trivia once and it mentioned Revolution 909, but the drums sound so compressed there and so crisp here it's hard to tell.
It's just a 909 in both songs. No sampling required
daft punk released revolution 909 in 1997
Cher did believe in 1998
The 909 is a drum machine with precomputed samples see, so there will be some overlap and similarity in songs using the same kit. They’re just the same sounds in a different pattern...
TOCA World Touring Cars game by Codemasters has this sample as a drum loop in the menu theme.
@Roberto Lopez yeah? As if we didn't know?

I don`t want to ruin it all but Thomas said in 2012 that he would not be able to do another "homework" because he is not in that mood anymore and life was different back then. homework is so underrated, i listen to it so much on cd
It is not, everyone knows how important it is
I would say HAA and Alive 1997 are more applicable to the “underrated” category, one being their worst reviewed album and the other simply being overshadowed by Alive 2007. Homework is one of the most acclaimed and popular house records of all time, it’s not as popular as Discovery or RAM but it’s still significant.
