In an interview, Giovanni said that the Daft Punk called him and didn't told him what they were doing. They just had 3 mics hanging from 60's,80's and 00's. Daft Punk asked Giorgio to just tell his story and they recorded it and made this masterpiece.

Many Daft Punk fans disowned this album. However, it is the culmination of a career. The collaborations of the enormous figures of music that we have in this album are not only an example that to be a great musician you must have good musical references to create pieces with good taste, but they are also a great tribute to the people, who Before them, they paved the way for this musical creativity. For me, by far the best Daft Punk album, for everything it represents, for everything it contains and for the incredible quality and artistic culture that they boast here. Special mention to "Touch" with Paul Williams. Anyone who has seen Phantom of the Paradise will have remembered the film when they heard the theme for the first time. Simply HUGE.
Its my favourite album next to Gorilla's Plastic beach. There is just a sense of a different style and like you said a culmination of their career.

My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but I have a dream
Io, Giovanni Giorgio, ho un sogno.
The initial disco beat drops when Giorgio decides to take the plunge and devote his life to his dream.
After he talks about breaking free of the concept of music being "correct", there is a classical buildup which finally breaks free from the steady disco beat replaced with complex drums and bass including a lot of offbeats.
The song steps you through a lot of genres that were developing over the course of Giorgio's life.
At the very end of the song, the frequency slows down enough to become the click track that shaped the sound of the future.
I get goosebumps at how symbolic this song is. It's a tale of the glory of coming into one's own as a musician and shaping the future of music, spoken through music and monologue.

It was almost impossible because it was- The dream was so big, that I didn’t see any chance because I was living in a little town, was studying, and when I finally broke away from school, and became musician, I thought « Well, now I may have a little bit of a chance » because all I really wanted to do is music. And not only play music, but compose music. At that time in Germany, in 69, 70, they had already discotheques. So I would take my car, would go to a discotheque, sing maybe 30 minutes, think I had about 7-8 songs. I would partially sleep in the car, because I didn’t wanted to drive home, and that helped me for about it. Almost 2 years to survive, in the beginning. I wanted to do an album, with the sounds of the 50s, the sounds of the 60s, of the 70s, and then have a song of the future, and I thought wait a seconde, I know the synthesizer, why don’t I use the synthesizer, which is the sound of the future. And I didn’t have any idea what to do, but I knew I needed a clic, so we put the clic, on the 24 track, which then was synced to the Moog Modular. I knew that could be a sound of the future, but I did not realized how much the impact would be. My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me Giorgio.
