No, it’s not perfect, but the set of vocabulary he uses I’ve noticed in all your videos is so respectful and endearing. I feel like the words you speak, Joel, are so reflective of who you are. 항상 외국분들이 나와서 국뽕만 늘어놓고 좋은 얘기만 해야되는게 한국 유튜브의 숙명이어서 항상 불편했는데... 굳이 말을 많이 하지 않아도 한국의 소외된 곳을 영상으로 보여주면서 그에 대해 진솔한 얘기를 나누는 것도 정말 좋은 거 같네요. 자주 들르겠습니다.

The thing I really appreciate about Dan and Joel that I wish that KoreanEnglishman/Josh and Ollie did more often is leave the restaurant info in the video description. That stew looks amazing.

Joel having an "enthusiasm for life" definitely seems like a good way to describe him. He always seems very eager to absorb experiences and information about new things going on around him or that others introduce him to. His youthful curiousity and positive energy probably help uplift and encourage those around him. I've always been impressed by the fact that he started out learning Korean without any formal training. It's quite interesting to wonder what he would be doing today if he and Josh (and Dan) had never met. I hope you never lose that incredible zeal for life, Joel. It's a wonderful thing.

1- I think we live in a society that don't really want to talk or hear about deep things. We are afraid of being emotional or that it will not be entertaining enough and you are a really good exemple that deeper subjects can be interesting.
2- Hearing you guys talking about culture and your relationship is really heartwarming and, even tho I am from Quebec and not from England or Korea, it is soo nice to learn about cultures that, otherwise, I would know nothing about

So, in the other video clips Josh always tries to speak in kinda medium tempo and with clear pronounciation for those who don't use English for their mother tongue, but what I can say in this video is that Josh is talking to Joel with his own language, which makes him even friendlier and like he's having a good time with his lovely old mate. What a great video.

Maybe UK people are more open. I've found over and over people (here in Canada) weren't interested in my life in India. They aren't interested in hearing about other cultures. I got rolled eyes, glazed over looks, told I talk about India too much. I learned to just not talk about it. I loved the rare times when I met people who were interested in other countries . we always hit it off and had great discussions.
Now as a mother though, I can share with my kids my love of other cultures.

I was introduced to Korean culture through Kpop of Rain, BoA, DBSK in the first half of 2000s. When I was in university in 2008, Kpop exploded with Girl's Generation, Wonder Girls, Super Junior, and people started to chase after not only the music, but the K-drama and food as well. I even attended a Korean culture expo in my country that year when they started to export the culture. And in 2010, I travelled with my mom on a tour to Korea and it was amazing.
And then, I found Josh and Ollie through KoreanEnglishman, and was introduced to a new level of Korea I never seen before. Josh's passion for Korea is like Steve Irwin's passion for animal conservation. So much energy, happiness, and laughter for sharing everything in the country, even to Ollie's infectious laugh.
Seeing how Dan and Joel went from two guys from England getting tortured around super spicy Korean food to having fallen in love with Korea, and even marrying into Korea, makes me feel so happy they found where their happiness is at.
