I really like how Mariano is actually just an incredibly kindhearted guy. With him being Isabella’s betrothed, it would’ve been very easy to make him a bad guy, but he’s just a sweet, hopeless romantic.
The part when they sing "We see how bright your burn, We see how brave you've been" hits so hard because the family finally acknowledges Mirabel and I think so many of us wish for the same acknowledgement from our own families

The part that hits me the hardest is when the townspeople show up. Everyone, especially abuela, were so worried about what THEY could offer to the town and about being hated if they were no longer useful without their gifts. To see the people coming together to remind them that even without gifts, they are also a part of the town and given the chance, the townspeople would do for them too... Truly a beautiful moment. The real magic is family and community.

It's so much more than that, Abuela always pushed the family to protect and serve the town, and they did. The Madrigals' lives were about protecting the town. And the moment the family is in trouble, the town steps up to help. It was never the Madrigals AND the town, it was the town, which INCLUDED the Madrigals.

Yes, I noticed it was mentioned in the credits while I was at the cinema and wondered where they put "Let it go" in 🤣 But it's actually quite fitting, Pepa owns a braid like Elsa and controls the weather.

The fact that Bruno was just trying to joke but they took it literally just because of his gift. But for real tho, this song shows a lot of development for each character. Just because someone is not “special”, doesn’t mean they are not useful in any way. The main message here from this song is Teamwork makes the dream work and each family member deserves love equally.

Some of the gifts are great and have few drawbacks on the person who has it but others, like Dolores and Bruno, really have some big side effects since at least with Dolores, she doesn't seem to be able to turn it off. It would have been nice if they could've made it so their gifts come back if and when they want them instead of exactly as they were. (Also tangent but Camilo has it really rough too. Does that poor kid even know who he is, when he's constantly shifting into someone else to accommodate everyone's needs? Who is Camilo really?)
I love how every character sings to the tune of their song. Mirabel starts and ends with the tune of "The Family Madrigal." However through the song she sings to the tune of "Waiting on a miracle". Camilo and Dolores sing to the tune of "We don't talk about Bruno." Luisa sings to the tune of "Surface Peessure. And Isabella sings to the tune of "What else can I do." I also noticed that at the end all of the things they say about Mirabel are all the things she talked about during "Waiting on a Miracle." It's just such a nice detail and really ties it all together. Edit: After diving into the Encanto rabbit hole once again I realized that they don't all sing their songs, some of them do and some don't, the point I was trying to make was that this song incorporates every song and at least one singing part of every character

Here's a difference you might not have noticed: At the start Mirabel sings 'everybody gets to shine' now she says 'everybody wants to shine'. She is acknowledges that not everyone in her family is perfect all the time :D

What's cool is that they put in melodies from every song heard in Encanto in this one, despite having different words you can hear some of the other songs melodies in this one. Camilo singing the melody for We Don't Talk About Bruno, and even Bruno sneaking in "Let It Go" and you have the piano for it playing. Best one was 2:12 where Isabela sings a part which sounds like her part when she's coming down on her vine in We Don't Talk About Bruno, 2:20 Luisa and Isabela sings a part which sounds like Surface Pressure, and 2:28 Isabela, Luisa, Mirabel and Dolores sings a part which sounds like What Else Can I do. But looking at the lyrics as well, comparing to The Family Madrigal, the first song featured in this film, the lyrics go "So many stars, and everyone gets to shine." But now in All Of You, it goes "So full of stars, and everyone wants to shine." I feel like that is like recalling to the beginning where everyone feels like they "get to shine" and all have a special place in this family, which isn't true as we've seen in this film, Abuela being the head of the family only has her eyes on Isabela, grooming her to become as perfect and pure as possible. As well as only focusing on the miracle. In this song, when Abuela realizes that she shouldn't rely on the miracle, she is seen looking at her daughters as it shows that she cared more about the miracle than her own kin.
I first watched Encanto last January with my parents, my grandma (Puerto Rican), and my step-grandpa (Mexican). Today, my grandma came over again and we were listening to some songs in the soundtrack, including this one. So, when Abuela said, “The miracle is you.” my own Abuela gave me a hug and repeated it.
"What do you see?" "Me." When she said "all of me", the scene moving to each family member. As if saying that Mirabel sees herself in all of her family. They are parts of her life.
The "lay down your load, we have no gifts but we are many" part really got me. The family's had this responsibility to help everyone around them, and it's so nice to see everyone help them in return.
It means even more since he asked her to visit and she said she would bring him home. Meaning with mirabelle she won't push out the family weirdos but let them in
"Open your eyes" almost like a callback to 'Waiting on a Miracle' when Mirabel says "Open your eyes, open your eyes, open your eyes." like abuela finally gets her.
And if it wasn't for Abuelo's sacrifice there would be no community, no gifts. It's a shame Abuelo isn't talked about more, but it is most likely because due to Abuela's trauma she doesn't like to talk about him much. Because it hurts her too much.

For this song some characters sing with their characteristical "theme": Mirabel starts with "The Family Madrigal" theme, then at 1:01 Abuela sings in the key of "dos oruguitas" (but in a less obvious way), later at 2:12 Isabela sings in her theme as well (heard through the song "we dont talk about Bruno" and sang by Mirabel during her own song "what else can I do?"), and later at 2:20 the part of Luisa from "Surface Pressure" to end with the already iconic phrase (for me) "Straight up to the sky, let's gooo!!!". This was lovely

This song never fails to get me all emotional because of everything that happens in it. Alma recognises where she went wrong, Bruno mends his relationship with his family, the townspeople help the Madrigals, Luisa and Isabela learn to accept their imperfections and vulnerabilities, Dolores gets to confess to the man she loved with all her heart, Mirabel is finally acknowledged, and most importantly, the family begins to heal and break away from the mask of perfection that they forced themselves to wear.
This ending song connects to a lot of the well-developed characters. The first part connects with Alma, with her realizing the miracle isn't a gift, but her family themselves. It also connects with Bruno's struggle, where he realizes that he isn't weird, and that his family misses him. It shifts to Luisa, realizing that it's okay to feel pressured, and then to Isabela, finally realizing that she isn't perfect and embracing who she is. Then it shifts to Mirabel being accepted as who she is by the family. But the best part? All the character arcs in the song had finished, because of Mirabel. Mirabel showed Alma how she only saw the family as a gift, Mirabel showed Bruno that him leaving wasn't for the best, Mirabel caused Luisa to reveal about her pressure to handle the burdens, and Mirabel made Isabela realize that she needs to be who she is in reality because of their fight. And in the ending, Mirabel ended up being the one holding the magic together, which makes sense, because she practically fixed her whole family.
I don't think fixed is the right word. She reunited the family during a time where their gifts were tearing the family apart. I think they are still a lot of wounds that need healing, but now there is hope.
I've been crying throughout the film, but this song hit me the hardest. It felt like a much-needed emotional release. The lyrics were so beautifully written.
The line "But stars dont shine they burn" is so powerful, the idea of perfection consumes us but the true is that we will never be perfect no matter how hard we try because perfection does not exist
'We made this one for you' is such a tearjerker. I dunno why. Maybe it's because Mirabel is such a relatable character aside from Isabela and Luisa or maybe because finally, it's the sign the family totally accepted Mirabel.
Even more so because of the symbolism. The conflict began because Mirabel didn't get a room of her own since she had no gift. This is the family acknowledging her, gift or no gift, by giving her her own door, the door to the house itself.
@@pwanchi09 I wouldn't say it started because of that. The cracks were starting before then with Bruno getting more and more distant from the pressure of disappointing Abuela. Mirabel not having a door was just an overt symptom of the problem.
@@AnakhaSilver also everyone become overwhelmed - Luisa by the pressure , Isabella by burden of perfection, Pepa by suppressing negative emotions and worries etc I think all of them learned something about themselves - Luisa that is ok to relax, Isabella that imperfections are epitome of life, etc
I cannot make it through this song without getting misty. The message that you don’t have to have some amazing talent or be perfect to be loved and being value to the world is so beautiful. There is Mirabel, of course, but also the town that still rallies behind them and helps. The love and dedication that they have for each other is the most precious gift.
Bruno: "You're the real gift, kid. Let us in." Right in the feels! It took me a while to wrap my brain around this movie but once I had watched it a couple times, I understood it, and it's just so powerful!

If you pay attention, when the villagers come in chanting their "ohhs" before they sing their part, the "ohhs" are in the same musical pattern as one of the harmonic background elements in "Dos Orugitas" when the music mentions the butterflies being the miracles that come from the caterpillars breaking down the walls of their cocoons It's a musical way of saying that not just is the family coming back together a miracle, but that the entire community that they're a part of is a miracle in and of itself. 0:41 Just wanna mention a little something I noticed. She said "And the constellations shift" In the first song "Welcome to the Madrigal Family" if you remember, at the start she says "This is my family a perfect constellation". And the last song says "Constellations shift". This really shows how much of a development the characters got and how much they have shifted from their perfect selves.
Oh this song got me crying, it's so good and cathartic seeing Abuela apologizing and recognizing the error of her ways (and changing for the better), Bruno being welcomed back into the family, and Mirabel just finally being accepted into the family and so much more. Man, this movies just hits me in the feels
In the movie, when Agustín says “The triplets all reunite!” hes joining in the triplet hug, and I love that because I like the idea that he and Bruno really got along and were basically brothers. And Agustín was also really sad when Bruno left, so hes really happy to see hes back.
I personally love Dolores. why? She's adorable, Sassy, And ... Knows that if she told the family she loved Isabellas "boyfriend" she would hurt her family. But she got him in the end.
it makes me cry seeing how the community came together to help after so many years of abuela feeling strong obligation and duty to her community to serve them with their gifts--the community loves them and even in the nightmare scenario where they lose the magic, they can rely on each other. and they re-created mirabel's door ceremony with a happy ending this time where she is accepted and embraced as an integral part of her family and she actually gets to open a magic door. 😭

I love how this one song includes Melodie’s from every song, specifically “through the roof, through the sky, let’s go” and so on. It’s a beautiful thing to include for the family and community get together

I love that Dolores tells Mariano to slow down. It's not like I have a lot of experience but while a crush can happen instantly, I don't think love does. Other disney princesses fall in love at first sight so I love that they added a touch of realism here.

The school thinks my class are the worst class in the school because we all have bad academic. As what I see is tho we have bad academic but I'm very good at art, my friend good at dancing, some of them are good in basketball, a classmate got a champion on Bowling competition. Also, many of them knows piano and singing. And like to cook. It's ironic that we all good at some non academic things. So the school thinks we are worst and bad attitudes.

It's the perfect ending song. Remember the first scene, when Abuela said to Mirabel to open her eyes, she was shown the candle. Their miracle. Or was what Abuela thought to be their miracle. On the last part of this song, Abuela asked Mirabel to open her eyes again, holding the doorknob, and then she realized she is the miracle. All of them need not the candle and the gifts it gave them. They just need each other. And notice the doorknob was with initials M, it might mean Mirabel, but it makes sense to mean Madrigal. The home of the Madrigals. Mirabel is their miracle.
This song is like the conclusion sentence in a paragraph. It has a little part of each song and all the characters sing a little part. I love how this wraps up the movie!
This entire song is a masterpiece but the part that always gives me chills is when the townspeople show up to help because it gives the town the same feel that the city of New York has in the Raimi and Webb Spider-Man movies. The town in Encanto feels like a character in it of itself that the family Madrigal interacts with.

When Dolores said "I knew he never left I heard him everyday" I was like, girl what? Why didn't you tell anyone? I know why she didn't tell anyone, but I was just shocked. Also for anyone who hasn't noticed this song is mix of all the songs that were sung throughout the entire movie of Encanto. Like the beats and tunes are combined together from the other songs into this song. I love how they brought the town into this. “Lay down your load. We’re only down the road. We’ll do anything for you” A sense of community love. Good job Disney
It's so much more than that, Abuela always pushed the family to protect and serve the town, and they did. The Madrigals' lives were about protecting the town. And the moment the family is in trouble, the town steps up to help. It was never the Madrigals AND the town, it was the town, which INCLUDED the Madrigals.

Some of the gifts are great and have few drawbacks on the person who has it but others, like Dolores and Bruno, really have some big side effects since at least with Dolores, she doesn't seem to be able to turn it off. It would have been nice if they could've made it so their gifts come back if and when they want them instead of exactly as they were.
(Also tangent but Camilo has it really rough too. Does that poor kid even know who he is, when he's constantly shifting into someone else to accommodate everyone's needs? Who is Camilo really?)

I love how every character sings to the tune of their song. Mirabel starts and ends with the tune of "The Family Madrigal." However through the song she sings to the tune of "Waiting on a miracle". Camilo and Dolores sing to the tune of "We don't talk about Bruno." Luisa sings to the tune of "Surface Peessure. And Isabella sings to the tune of "What else can I do."
I also noticed that at the end all of the things they say about Mirabel are all the things she talked about during "Waiting on a Miracle." It's just such a nice detail and really ties it all together.
Edit: After diving into the Encanto rabbit hole once again I realized that they don't all sing their songs, some of them do and some don't, the point I was trying to make was that this song incorporates every song and at least one singing part of every character

What's cool is that they put in melodies from every song heard in Encanto in this one, despite having different words you can hear some of the other songs melodies in this one. Camilo singing the melody for We Don't Talk About Bruno, and even Bruno sneaking in "Let It Go" and you have the piano for it playing. Best one was 2:12 where Isabela sings a part which sounds like her part when she's coming down on her vine in We Don't Talk About Bruno, 2:20 Luisa and Isabela sings a part which sounds like Surface Pressure, and 2:28 Isabela, Luisa, Mirabel and Dolores sings a part which sounds like What Else Can I do. But looking at the lyrics as well, comparing to The Family Madrigal, the first song featured in this film, the lyrics go "So many stars, and everyone gets to shine." But now in All Of You, it goes "So full of stars, and everyone wants to shine." I feel like that is like recalling to the beginning where everyone feels like they "get to shine" and all have a special place in this family, which isn't true as we've seen in this film, Abuela being the head of the family only has her eyes on Isabela, grooming her to become as perfect and pure as possible. As well as only focusing on the miracle. In this song, when Abuela realizes that she shouldn't rely on the miracle, she is seen looking at her daughters as it shows that she cared more about the miracle than her own kin.

Today, my grandma came over again and we were listening to some songs in the soundtrack, including this one. So, when Abuela said, “The miracle is you.” my own Abuela gave me a hug and repeated it.

This song never fails to get me all emotional because of everything that happens in it. Alma recognises where she went wrong, Bruno mends his relationship with his family, the townspeople help the Madrigals, Luisa and Isabela learn to accept their imperfections and vulnerabilities, Dolores gets to confess to the man she loved with all her heart, Mirabel is finally acknowledged, and most importantly, the family begins to heal and break away from the mask of perfection that they forced themselves to wear.
This ending song connects to a lot of the well-developed characters. The first part connects with Alma, with her realizing the miracle isn't a gift, but her family themselves. It also connects with Bruno's struggle, where he realizes that he isn't weird, and that his family misses him. It shifts to Luisa, realizing that it's okay to feel pressured, and then to Isabela, finally realizing that she isn't perfect and embracing who she is. Then it shifts to Mirabel being accepted as who she is by the family.
But the best part? All the character arcs in the song had finished, because of Mirabel. Mirabel showed Alma how she only saw the family as a gift, Mirabel showed Bruno that him leaving wasn't for the best, Mirabel caused Luisa to reveal about her pressure to handle the burdens, and Mirabel made Isabela realize that she needs to be who she is in reality because of their fight. And in the ending, Mirabel ended up being the one holding the magic together, which makes sense, because she practically fixed her whole family.
I don't think fixed is the right word. She reunited the family during a time where their gifts were tearing the family apart. I think they are still a lot of wounds that need healing, but now there is hope.

I've been crying throughout the film, but this song hit me the hardest. It felt like a much-needed emotional release. The lyrics were so beautifully written.
The line "But stars dont shine they burn" is so powerful, the idea of perfection consumes us but the true is that we will never be perfect no matter how hard we try because perfection does not exist
"The triplets all reunite" got me sobbing
'We made this one for you' is such a tearjerker. I dunno why. Maybe it's because Mirabel is such a relatable character aside from Isabela and Luisa or maybe because finally, it's the sign the family totally accepted Mirabel.
Even more so because of the symbolism. The conflict began because Mirabel didn't get a room of her own since she had no gift. This is the family acknowledging her, gift or no gift, by giving her her own door, the door to the house itself.
@@pwanchi09 I wouldn't say it started because of that. The cracks were starting before then with Bruno getting more and more distant from the pressure of disappointing Abuela. Mirabel not having a door was just an overt symptom of the problem.

I cannot make it through this song without getting misty. The message that you don’t have to have some amazing talent or be perfect to be loved and being value to the world is so beautiful. There is Mirabel, of course, but also the town that still rallies behind them and helps. The love and dedication that they have for each other is the most precious gift.

If you pay attention, when the villagers come in chanting their "ohhs" before they sing their part, the "ohhs" are in the same musical pattern as one of the harmonic background elements in "Dos Orugitas" when the music mentions the butterflies being the miracles that come from the caterpillars breaking down the walls of their cocoons
It's a musical way of saying that not just is the family coming back together a miracle, but that the entire community that they're a part of is a miracle in and of itself. Really fucking cool

Oh this song got me crying, it's so good and cathartic seeing Abuela apologizing and recognizing the error of her ways (and changing for the better), Bruno being welcomed back into the family, and Mirabel just finally being accepted into the family and so much more. In the movie, when Agustín says “The triplets all reunite!” hes joining in the triplet hug, and I love that because I like the idea that he and Bruno really got along and were basically brothers. And Agustín was also really sad when Bruno left, so hes really happy to see hes back.
I feel he liked Bruno all along, but he's super happy to see him back because of how happy it clearly makes Julieta to see her brother home.

it makes me cry seeing how the community came together to help after so many years of abuela feeling strong obligation and duty to her community to serve them with their gifts--the community loves them and even in the nightmare scenario where they lose the magic, they can rely on each other.
and they re-created mirabel's door ceremony with a happy ending this time where she is accepted and embraced as an integral part of her family and she actually gets to open a magic door. 😭

The part where mirabel’s family sings that they see how bright she burns was the part of the family that often over looked her, the family that sings we see how brave you’ve been is her sisters who look at her and realize how much she’s had to go through as they did just in a different way, and the the see yourself in turn is sung by her parents who even though they noticed they couldn’t get mirabel to see herself through their eyes

I love that Dolores tells Mariano to slow down. It's not like I have a lot of experience but while a crush can happen instantly, I don't think love does. Other disney princesses fall in love at first sight so I love that they added a touch of realism here.

The school thinks my class are the worst class in the school because we all have bad academic.
As what I see is tho we have bad academic but I'm very good at art, my friend good at dancing, some of them are good in basketball, a classmate got a champion on Bowling competition. Also, many of them knows piano and singing. And like to cook.
It's ironic that we all good at some non academic things. So the school thinks we are worst and bad attitudes.

Notice the little details where Dolores sings about hearing him. And the “Let it rain, let it snow, let it go” had a piano bit that is literally “Let It Go” and of course is a nod to it. And especially, they’re finally talking about Bruno.

It's the perfect ending song. Remember the first scene, when Abuela said to Mirabel to open her eyes, she was shown the candle. Their miracle. Or was what Abuela thought to be their miracle. On the last part of this song, Abuela asked Mirabel to open her eyes again, holding the doorknob, and then she realized she is the miracle. All of them need not the candle and the gifts it gave them. They just need each other. And notice the doorknob was with initials M, it might mean Mirabel, but it makes sense to mean Madrigal. The home of the Madrigals. Mirabel is their miracle.

This song is like the conclusion sentence in a paragraph. It has a little part of each song and all the characters sing a little part. I love how this wraps up the movie!
This entire song is a masterpiece but the part that always gives me chills is when the townspeople show up to help because it gives the town the same feel that the city of New York has in the Raimi and Webb Spider-Man movies. The town in Encanto feels like a character in it of itself that the family Madrigal interacts with.
i love the part where the towns people sing "lay down your load' "we have no gifts but we are many" it just so heartwarming knowing that they are helping the madrigals just like how the family helped(?) them. great film!!
The ending of this song was beautiful. It's as if the family finallu acknowledged how truly valuable Mirabel was. Bruno was right, she is a gift
my favorite part is when Bruno just starts spitting bars and rapping and Dolores finally getting what she wanted! Really an awesome movie! Good Job! And now when I hear Dolores sing her part to Mariano i starts singing so loud! I memorized it!
Really love this movies attention to detail, from the character design and character development, to the animation ,to the story line, to the music, honestly this movie was perfection at its finest♥️

When Dolores said "I knew he never left I heard him everyday" I was like, girl what? Why didn't you tell anyone? I know why she didn't tell anyone, but I was just shocked.
Also for anyone who hasn't noticed this song is mix of all the songs that were sung throughout the entire movie of Encanto. Like the beats and tunes are combined together from the other songs into this song. For example, when you hear Isabela singing with Luisa, that's the beat and tune of Isabela's song "What else can I do". Just wanted to share.
