This song is not from the movie, it was written in 1867 during a revolution in Puerto Rico, the title of the video is kind of misleading. So no, it was turn into a song before the musical and I seriously doubt the author got any inspiration from the french when she wrote it lol.

More than 90% of Puerto Ricans are not interested in any stupid revolution or independence.
