Rafer discussed briefly being out of the league but learning the politics of the NBA during that time. He also revealed how pivotal two 10-day contracts were for his career taking off.

Rafer was shooting 3’s from deep on the Rockets and Magic. Go watch the Orlando vs Lakers series Rafer was killing it he was Skip on the floor that Kobe had to guard him. Then that goof of a coach benched him for Jameer Nelson who just came back from an injury. One of the dumbest moves as a coach I was so pissed.
I remember that bs, the Orlando Magic had the momentum all throughout the playoffs & that dumb coach made that stupid move & put jameer Nelson in the Lakers' series & the series took a turn.

Rafer Alston was the man back then in And 1. My cousin would buy all the mixtapes from the back of this magazine. I grew up watching those and got into basketball because of this. Now that I’m older I see i was inspired by it especially seeing him get to the nba. Being teammates with T-mac and being able to play as him in nba street 2.
I met him out in Milwaukee a few times, he was pretty cool.
