Of course somethings are changed for the storyline like the electricity and such but I think overall they really went into how North Korea can be from a north Korean perspective. • @farhana9025

      Exactly, the media is going to portray the most gruesome and ugly parts of North Korea, but that tends to happen more in central north Korea. This is the border, with not much connection to the apital. Really the show depicted a lot of abuse of power in the military and the struggles of the everyday person. It didn't show what higher-ups, closely related to the capital were involved with at all. That would seem out of place for a romance drama. I do agree that NK is a place inhabited by Tyranny, but that doesn't change the fact that there's also real human beings there, and the show really humanized the country, without extracting from it's evil. And that's why I have such a deep appreciation for the show, it all comes together.

    I've seen Kang Nara's previous interviews too about CLOY and she always has these complaints. I suggest people check out other NK defectors who think otherwise. Some were even open enough to consider the differences in opinions were because they were from different regions. The culture in one may be different from the other. And CLOY had used several NK defector consultants, hence, they must have only picked up the majority's opinion, and used such info in the drama.
    Also, most NK defectors from other channels have praised Hyunbin for having the most realistic NK accent. So it's still a puzzle to me why Nara is on a contrary position. Again, this could be another matter of region cultural differences.

    • @veeveegem
      @veeveegem 4 년 전 +41

      @@user-sk6pk5hq8f Indeed. That's why I really don't understand Kang Nara why she's so bent on tagging Hyun bin as having a very weird accent, without even considering the regional factors. While other NK defectors acknowledged these differences.

      @@georgiebennett3336 I forgot exactly where Nara was originally from but I've seen other NK defectors who came from Pyongyang and were considered very affluent at that, but still had humble views in comparison to her. A guy even said that the NK he perceives is only the Pyongyang life he had but he's still very appreciative that through CLOY, he had seen a different side of NK.
      Nara, on the other hand, is very critical. It's like it should be black and white. What she saw must be the correct one, not even considering that NK is a relatively big country with different regional customs and way of living.

    Even though the whole premise of this show is absurd from the beginning, like how Seri survives a damn hurricane and falls safely on a tree in North Korea 💀But after that, you see somewhat “almost” accurate portrayal of North Korean life that you really feel all these warm emotions while watching the show. It shows that despite all their differences, North and South really are blood brothers and sisters separated by war. This was one of the best k-dramas I’ve ever watched. Even though they tried to make it as accurate as possible, I think the show creators’ main motive was to show the human aspect of North Korea and its people...more than the trash regime and their oppression.

      Smart phones(which are claimed to be made in nk but actually in china) are prominent but because they use intranets you cannot download apps on appstore. North korea has a lot of thefts just because they need to live. Just that they wouldnt often report it on television because most of them would be detrimental to the image of the government although there were few atrocious incidents that were reported in nk media like where a man killed a lot of young people for their liver to follow his horoscope from a north korean shaman that he needs to eat a lot of young mans liver to cure his illness . Also i think wipers might be just a way to prank people im not north korean so.

    According to the director during their press on when asked about the story he said “that when he read the script the drama is more of a FANTASY as well as a cheerful romantic comedy” .... now wonder you’ll see a lot of loopholes since it’s more of a fantasy... but what is important is it achieved its purpose - most of the viewers enjoyed it at the same time learned a lot of life lessons about love, friendship, family, camaraderie and boss-employee relationships. It’s really worth watching!
