No one talks about how the industry WORKED NAOMI CONSTANTLY FROM CHILDHOOD I hate how they talk about her irritability as if she is just acting like a diva when she literally was an overworked and pedestalized child. She's a beautiful person and we should be grateful for her example as a REAL human being.

Let me tell you something you don’t know. There is a lot of pr*stituti*n that goes on in the modeling industry. Yacht parties anyone. The modeling agencies and older supermodels p*mp out young girls to billionaires. It’s a lot going on many don’t know about. Let’s not delve into beauty pageants.

Growing up, the first time I heard of Naomi was that she was this beautiful black supermodel who was linked to former Liberian warlord, Charles Taylor who allegedly gave her some diamonds. Even as a child I also understood how badly runway models were treated. (If you're concerned why I knew all these, I started reading newspapers too early and grew up in West Africa iykyk).

As much as I dont like Naomi mostly b/c of her controversies on some criminal people. I think after 40 years in Fashion, she should be on the BOD of some fashion brands or be the editor in something. Unless she doesnt want that job. She has over 40 years experience. Thats invaluable.

I love Naomi. She is such a fighter and survivor. I think her life is a reflection of the industry throughout the years and how a model reacts to that especially a black model. It’s very mirror like and in some ways she had to be that to survive and thank God like the industry she continues to evolve and is a catalyst in that evolution especially for black models now more than ever to have rep. on the runway.

About her behaviors and tantrums, she was never really allowed to grow up naturally. And that messes up her mental development. Im not saying she's stupid, but the maturity development may have been a bit lost on her. Everyone has praised and cater to her maybe every need since a young age. And she learned how to play the game and people, that she could get away with it, nobody confronted her on it since she was who she was, all the "work people" needed her after all. And she knew all this.
But regardless she's a absolutely beautiful woman, that walk and that body, omg, absolutely ONE OF A KIND 💥

If you like this and I certainly did, if you have Apple+ there is a show on the 90's super model with Naomi, and the other super Models from that time. It is Naomi, Christy, Cyndy, and Linda and it's a wonderful show. These ladies influenced SO MUCH in the 90's. Truly awe inspiring.
