If you catch an insect with your eye while driving, would you rather have sunglasses or not? Doug probably didn't have a helmet available for him.. With a custom fitted car, likely a custom fitted helmet that I wouldn't lend out to anyone just to try.

I'm sure he meant the ride quality was fine but when you factor in the noise, vibration, how cramped it is, and the lack of amenities then yea its probably not very comfortable.

I don't know if it's still the case, but I remember the mid 90's F1 cars having wooden planks mounted underneath. When attending races, I'd see officials measuring them to determine whether or not the car the car had been run too low.
I like that Tom actually drives his car, seems crazy to me when people buy a car that’s so expensive and only ever drive them for a few hundred miles.

Even after watching the video, I doubt most people could remember without notes. More than just starting it, putting into gear and shifting is wild.
On the one hand, possibly irresponsible, but on the other anyone stealing a car like this isn't doing it on opportunity, besides, the wheel effectively acts like a key as you can take it with you. To steal something like this you need to do research, as there will be a tracker fitted, and what happens when you need a part? It's not going to be too hard to spot that one disappeared and another appeared from nowhere, especially given how everyone will post their pics on instagram.

The old mono, with 70hp less and heavier weight, was already faster than anything else around Evo's Anglesey test track. The old Mono Lapped in 1:07,7 and putting things into perspective: it's 6 seconds faster per lap than the Ferrari 812 Superfast. That is a bigger difference in laptime between the old mono and the Superfast, than between the Superfast and a Civic type R. Eg. going from a Ferrari superfast to a Mono R is a bigger step than going from a hot-hatch to a Superfast.

I have a motorcycle with straight cut gears, and he is absolutely right, you get used to it. After you have it for a while, you start to get a feel for the RPM at which you can just upshift just by sound.
