I feel the exact same way cause like even if I say i feel like this it never comes across as a big thing, like there just aren't words you can just say to someone for them to understand how much things affect me. i just got here (long-time kpop fan who finally decided to see what this dpr ian guy is all about) and i've been binging his mvs for the past hour. i've been captivated by his style and artistry! everything from makeup to set to expressions tells a story. and as a person with anxiety disorders this one really resonates with me. i might have to listen to every song he's ever made now...oop

They’re an independent group...unless you have connections or money there’s no promoting your stuff to compete against the labels.
I must say they seem to be doing well from the view count in comparison to groups from smaller labels. At least with them doing everything themselves, they’ll ensure that they put their 100% in to reap the profits from their craft. The money goes straight to the group and doesn’t have to be filtered down through labels, parent labels, managers and an entire team.
I’m super proud of their achievements plus they’re hot too

Does anyone else realize that the person he's scared of is not anyone around him but just himself? In the whole setting it's only him and another depiction of himself. At some shots we see Ian restrained and trying to break free whilst the other him is manic. There is also a play in the lyrics; "so leave the lights on and stay inside". The manic Ian is actually the one scared of the real Ian because the only time he gets his mania is when the real him is gone.

christian's sound and aesthetic is obviously very different from dabin's but the detail and craft he puts into directing and crafting dpr's stuff remains consistent and he just continues to blow my mind through his visual storytelling

@@solkai7575 dpr is a production team basically. they're not necessarily a kpop group but there are also more than dpr ian and live. Theres also a dpr cream and rem :)

This song & the artist himself deserve so much more attention. He’s brilliant. Enjoyable music without being vapid. His voice, it’s tone, his harmonies, the lyrics, the synth & percussion- all blend perfectly while still maintaining some pleasurable dissonance. & then his music videos are also very engaging with unique & very well-developed aesthetic; they are almost like very short films as they most often follow a narrative. He’s very handsome too of course but with a ruggedness unseen in traditional Kpop as even when an idol is dressed in more rugged, chaotic, ragged / ripped / dirtied clothing, the idol nevertheless looks utterly put together, everything like clothing & accessories planned precisely, the makeup flawless, etc. so the formal & informal look perfectly flawed together, any flaws purposeful.
I mean I know his video is equally planned out so that everything is precise & purposeful. Nevertheless there is an uncleanliness - I’m trying to think of a better word; I have one on the tip of my tongue but it’s not coming out - I don’t know, flaws or … something that makes him more real, less of a doll like idols often seem to be forced into being. Dolls who have prerecorded voices, not only prerecorded “live” shows but also the extreme censorship of what they say. I could be totally wrong & he’s just as controlled. All of this together produces some genuine talent.

After watching his IG live, I could clearly notice how important the concept of the new album might be to IAN's expression of personal experiences and also to the reconstruction of his image towards other people to see and even to resonates with it. It's interesting that at the beginning of ''Scaredy Cat'''s mv there were voices telling news on tv like when someone's alone and tries to search for an exterior voice in order to get a distraction from the voice of your own but, considering all the things that are happening right now, it doesn't seem to really help. It's hard to get away from a loop that includes your own voice and thus you might feel afraid of letting this part of you express itself.
Almost all the scenes pictured this moment of anxiety and insecurities which made me think of the moment before an artist goes to the stage and appears in front of people that don't even know that he might be feeling this way but he hides it for a while and does what he prepared. It seems that we are all artists at this perspective and IAN did a meta-analysis of it but the difference is that he was being genuine and he made this side of the show - the backstage - more transparent, especially when he talked about his experience with bipolar before releasing this mv.
Maybe I went a little far and that was not exactly what he suggested but I thought of these aspects at the first time and I'm glad that he shared this with us and he gives us this space to show a part of our ''backstages'' as well.

Both the song and music video have such ominous undertones despite being so bright and vibrant. Even though the song sounds upbeat and happy, the lyrics talk about being scared and the fear of being alone. Ian is also carefree and dancing around in the video, but is then shown in a straightjacket, which often symbolizes feeling trapped and the obvious portrayal of mental instability. Definitely a video you need to watch more than once, amazing work always!
