- The Wrath of God & The Depravity of Humanity
Revelation 6:1-17
As we continue through Revelation this morning, we have come to one of the key doctrines of the Bible, the Doctrine of the wrath of God. The wrath of God is part of the absolute justice of God.
No sin can go unpunished with God’s absolute holiness and justice. So, even though there may be little or no evident response from God for most of the sins being poured out by fallen and sinful humans, God’s justice has kept track of every sin ever sinned against the Infinite, All-Knowing God Almighty.
But a moment is coming when the river of humanity’s sins, piling up behind the dam of God’s patience will reach the limit, and the righteous, infinite, just wrath of Almighty God bursts forth.
Wrath is one of God’s eight moral attributes, described in the Bible. Here is a list that we have studied as the elders and deacons of Calvary, from Grudem’s Systematic Theology:
Wrath: One of God’s Moral Attributes
The Moral Attributes of God may be described as: 1. Goodness; 2. Love; 3. Mercy (Grace, Patience); 4. Holiness; 5. Peace (or Order); 6. Righteousness (or Justice); 7. Jealousy; and 8. Wrath. The most vivid illustration of that final moral attribute is where we have arrived in Rev. 6.
God’s wrath is not only one of His attributes, this wrath He has, is one of the major doctrines in the Bible.
In the Old Testament more than twenty words are used to refer to God’s wrath. (Other, very different words relate to human anger.) There are nearly six hundred important passages on the subject. These passages are not isolated or unrelated, as if they had been added to the Old Testament at some later date by a particularly gloomy redactor. They are basic and are integrated with the most important themes and events of Scripture.
The first time God’s wrath shows up in Revelation is right here in Revelation 6. God intensely hates sin, and here in Revelation 6 we are introduced to the long-awaited “Day of the Lord” and the pouring out of the stored-up wrath.

"The great and terrible day of the Lord." I understand how great it will be for His saints, but do the saints also experience the terrible part of the day?"
Malachi 4 tells us how it goes down, and it shows us that the "day of the Lord" and the "day of Christ" occur at the same time.
Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall _the Sun of righteousness arise_ with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet _in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of _the great and dreadful day of the Lord:_
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
"The Sun of righteousness" shall arise because it is his day also, "in the day that I shall to this".
Luke 21:34-36, 1 Thessalonians 5:6-8 and Revelation 16:12-16 tell us _how_ we escape the wrath of God, even while it is occurring, _not_ 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 which only explains the method of being reunited with the dead in Christ.

God is calling His Church back to the Commandments and having the Faith of Jesus as scripture makes it clear, Rev 14:12, these are they who receives not the " Mark" of the Antichrist the Papacy Rev 14:8, 17:1,2, 19:2.
I Hope Jesus Christ shows me Mercy at the end of my Life. I DON'T want to hear the words; " Depart From Me Worker of Iniquity ." Worst thing anyone can hear in His/Her Life; imo.

I don't get why God would be raging over what he knew would happen. So nobody questions God and just lets God give eternal agony to the sinful?
It's God ... he does whatever he wants and only him knows what's really just... we did all sin... we all deserve his wrath ... for those who are saved , just be thankful and pray for all the others ... i didn't deserve or earn to be saved ... so as he did anyway, i thank him all the time and speak about him to everyone even if they don't believe ... that's the less i can do ❤️

There a difference between tribulation and wrath. Go read the Bible and find out who goes through tribulation and who go through wrath. Then you will understand why it’s called the Great Tribulation instead of the Great WRATH. Then go study the Greater Exodus we’re believers with be protected in the Great Tribulation.
