Hi efixx, what are those crimp on ends called?
What is that first tool you used to cut the cable insulation and where can i find one?
Missed I step, taking it all back apart after forgetting to put the cover on then reassembling
Oh yes - we share the pain.
Been there. Always fun... ๐ฌ
So true!
I think you mean, sliding it along 30m of flex, then remembering you could've just undone it
Been there a few times.
It's very refreshing to see people NOT showcasing how fast they can hack job outlets or switches. Bravo ๐ ๐. Very clean work
Did you see how terrible the wire strippers are?
@@RadDadisRad โItโs not about a manโs tools itโs what he can do with them.โ or something along those lines.
I was thinking the same this lmao. Imagine having to whip out the nail clippers.
wow somebody did something the right way in a short, surprising
You know what, thatโs satisfying! Making up nice H07 cables is an art form ๐
Trust you JT. Its true though.
@towersje
Those clocks, snips, and slips... ๐ฎ
once you've used those ferrules you'll be addicted to them. that works really great
My electrician told me to leave the earth cable a little bit longer in case somebody pull the plug more aggressively the protection stay in the plug last. It's still relevant these days, what is your opinion about that?
The eath connection terminal is a bit longer, so it is already accounted for.
@@lachertje812 I thought the earth terminal being a bit longer made the wire length shorter?
@@TheFool2cool Uhm...if all wires are the same length and the earth is closer...
@@TheFool2cool no, if the cable is ripped out of the plug, the ground wire should be the last one making contact. So it should be left longer. Some connectors, like this one have the ground terminal longer to have the same effect, you should never have the ground shorter than the others.
@@lachertje812 Same rule applies for other situations where all connections are aligned.
What this feeling of satisfaction every damn time it's too good โจ
๐๐๐ป
I have literally 0 wire work experience but for some reason this satisfies something deep in my computer loving brain. I built my own but this is a whole nother level dude
You would be surprised by how simple it is. Gets complicated when you are dealing with data transfer. A lot of peoples internet service problems are due to faulty lines and ports.
โ@dividedpersona 80% of internet service problems are over-subscription by the isp, which promptly blames the customers cabling and equipment. 15% is bad down drops from the isp or setup issues. 5% is actually the customers problem.
As an Electrician this definitely help me rekindle my passion oddly satisfying

You have no idea how nice it's seeing someone use the proper tool for big insation like that. I see so many people using razor blades and cutting into the copper wire inside as well
Idk why I watched this entire video. I don't know much at all about electrical work, but even I could tell this guy's is clean with it! Those connections are A1!
Very goodโฆ net time leave the Ground a Little longer! If the cable gets pulled out it Should get pulled out Last! Could save your life some day.
Usually the ground connector is a bit longer/closer to the cable entry and should be the last conductor to disconnect. I also leave the neutral longer because you don't want to lose neutral
The Earth terminal is about a centimeter longer than the rest. All the wires were cut to the same length. Therefore the Earth one will disconnect last without needing to cut the others shorter.
โ@@han5vk the scenario is that the cable strain relief fails and the cable is being ripped out of the plug. hence, keep 5mm difference between live and neutral, and 5mm-1cm between neutral and ground wire length.
@@harddiskwpYes that was what I was talking about. If the earth terminal is 1cm closer to the failed strain relief than the others, it will fail last, even if all the wires are cut to the same length.
Nicely done sir. Top notch workmanship
The sound of the cover going over the cord tho๐๐๐
God, those crimping tools look so satisfying. I'm probably the least qualified person to own one of those but dang, I feel like I gotta have one.

The more ferrules I crimp in my life the happier I get. Love the low gauge ones. This video was perfect satisfaction!
I enjoyed wiring up 48 and 64 core cables and putting 0.25mm bootlace ferrules on each one. Something very satisfying about it, especially with a pair of automatic crimpers.
Super clean and Pro! From an Electrician ๐๐
You made a good connection.
Lucky you saw that little bit of insulation.
Idk what's going but I like it
I miss doing these kind of works. I'm currently in College but I used to work in a Electrical Panel Industries and I loved installing these things.
It's refreshing to see people use the right tool for removing the protective outer sheeting. So many "pros" still use a scalpel. Even on thick wire like this.
PERFECTLY DONE! Love it! That stretchy insulation is a pain to work with
HO7 RNF, sounds like something I should type into Google Maps!
It's a butchered version of a harmonized cable code. The code written properly is H07-RN-F.
H tells you it's a harmonized cable.
The two numbers are a code for the voltage rating, 07 means up to 450V to ground and up to 700V between cores. In practice though the higher rated cables with thicker insulation are used more for their increased durability than for their increased voltage rating.
The two letters in the second section tell you the material the insulation and sheath are made from. R means insulated with ethelyne-propolyne rubber or equivilent. N means sheathed with polychrlorophene (neoprene) or equivilent (better for oild/grease resistance than normal rubber).
The -F tells you it's a fine stranded (flexible) cable.
It does not tell you the size and makeup of the cable. That is coded with a seperate code, for example 5G6mmยฒ for a cable with 5 cores, one of which is green/yellow and with a CSA of 6mmยฒ.
@@petermichaelgreen awesome explanation thanks for that

Reminds me of when I used to have to wire up these Appleton 600V 30A plugs. I'm not an electrician by any means but got pretty good at wiring up remote houses in the oilfield
I hope to be making extensions soon in the new shop. All my new machines are 3phase.
Great video ๐โกโกโก
The PE must be little longe then L1 L2 L3 and N, because if it tears apart, the earth should be last thing wire thats connected. Well Thats how learned it in Germany.
That is true, but as you can see the hole for the PE is on a hill, which means that it will still be the last connected wire. Typical 400V plugs in germany work the same way.
