Bro you're making me really scared about my upcoming SF visit 😅😅😅
😇
That uphill 1000 watts is my 110% max effort sprint... but every lap. Insane.
Literally grew up on this street watching the race every year! Awesome to see it scored so high! GJ with the finish this year your improvement is inspirational! You’re a beast!
8:39 a list showing the rankings of the courses would be kind of fun. Kind of like the Lap Times board from the show Top Gear!
...and before we knew it, EJ dropped another great video. Alyssa's race day video...oh hell yes!
🫡❤️
Los Gatos pronunciation on point 😂👌
Just for you 🤪
As a Spanish native I approve that pronunciation ✅
I was a little disappointed when you didn’t pronounce Santa Rosa with the same accent
Insane improvement in a year, congrats EJ on the finish and committing to a move like that.
Raced it in the late 80’s, great to see it still going strong! 🤙
Love watching your race recaps!
Thank you!
The end was the best! ❤ See you at Golden State Race Series!
Just a thought. In a crit or circuit race with a repeated hill ascent, it can be helpful to intentionally lose a few places and “float” the hill, then move up a few places on an easier portion of the circuit. It’s hard to do this every lap in a crit, there’s not enough time to move up before the hill comes around again, but it’s doable on a longer circuit. Even a few “easy”laps add up by the finish.
you can't do that on a course like this except on certain laps where it's going exceptionally hard. If you do that every lap, you'll get accordion-ed and be working much harder than you would if you simply rode in the first 10 spots the entire race. As an aside, I raced in SoCal for 11 years (a long time ago, in the 90s) and was good at hill crits, being good at anaerobic efforts, but Cat's Hill scared me. There were a couple years at the end (when I was mostly road racing) where I may have been light enough to do well there, but when I was doing mostly crits, I wussed out. Probably for good reason. That's a long way to drive to get dropped. Also wussed out and never did Nevada City.
Man this looks awesome well done dude looks spicy 🌶️😁 you’ve got a lot of talent for cycling buddy.. keep going man.. Pete 🚴🏻🚴🏻👍
Awesome video - great job! Such an improvement from last year. I had a friend drive down from Vancouver to race in it (plus a few others). I always love seeing the videos of Cat's Hill! Also, when Tyler is racing with you, how much does the pre-race talk and coaching change? I imagine he'll still be giving you tips and race tactics advice even though he's going against you (he's got wattz for days so I"m sure he can cope lol). Oh and that HR during your hill attack - either you were tired AF and couldn't get it raised, or more likely, well placed throughout the laps before - great stuff!
That’s awesome! It’s pretty much the same. He takes himself out of the equation which is nice! 👍
Hahha yeah! I felt comfortable in this race which really helped keep the HR down! Thanks for the comment!
@@Ejstrainingcampfigured for both. Good that he can separate himself, and sure he might "know" what you might do but still. And your HR was SO low, much more controlled and comfortable for sure. Keep it coming!
Appreciate the Mph thank you 🙏
Mans was floatin' each lap!
*Damn, look how much bigger Stetina in next to a Junior Lemond.* 😳
I would imagine that gave Lemond the advantage going up that hill 30 times. Also, Lemond got a better draft off Stetina than vice versa.
great vid 🔥
Thank you!!
cats hill is such a classic! Wish I could race it again...
Thank you for doing the MPH in this video! My dumb American brain can’t figure out how fast that is without losing concentration on the story. Also, appreciate you rounding it up to a whole number.
Anything for you :)
great video dude
Thank you!
Those are some great power numbers. I would be out the back in 3 laps, on a good day.
Crazy hill
looks comparable to Intelli's 1st race. "the Leg Breaker". whats the %?
Oh, you know, just a cool ~400 watts NP for ONE HOUR, so let's call it a "leg-burner" :O
Race the Tour of Somerville in New Jersey. Longest running bike race in the US
What software do you use for the data overlays?
This one is called Telemetry Overlay
Theo would like you to know that his favorite part is his favorite person Alyssa talking at the end 🥰🤪
I will definitely pass that on 😂🫶
❤
My H2o Bottle from Cat's Hill 2002 says 23%. Not 25%
The average is 23%

why did EJ and norcal stop making videos together? something I missed?
It’s the first video on my channel here.
One Prime or "a couple" ? 🤔🤔🤔
Definitely only one. I wrote out the script right after because I thought I got 2 but forgot to change the wording when I found out it was only 1 😳

Why do guys even bother running their bike up the hill? Just pack it up, race is over.
The guy in the video who ran it then rehopped on was able to catch, it's a lot easier to chase back then go off the front
I couldn’t believe that the guy running at 7:45 was able to make it back to the field. Took him like 3 laps of chasing, but he did it 👏🏼
Fantastic result, EJ 💪🦵
