I had a proud mummy moment this week when my 3 year old saw a family member upset, gave them a hug and said "it's ok to be sad". We've made a conscious effort to help him articulate his emotions in our parenting, and it was wonderful to hear him say it to someone else.

I am a mom of 3 boys and no girls and while my boys preferred all the boy stuff they would still sit down and watch a chick flick with mom. It kind of took the sting out of being the only female in a male household! They are now 35, 33, and 31. And they still like to watch movies with meโค

Whether you agree or disagree with me as long as you are tolerant. I believe we as a society especially us men, should teach boys of the next generation to behave like gentlemen. I honestly believe that gentlemen are the best men in the world because they do not behave like bullies and they also do not behave like whiners. Gentlemen are balanced men plus they are compassionate, discipline, and responsible. They are well-mannered and they show empathy for boys, girls, men, & women. They are like father figures plus they protect children both boys & girls from indoctrination, they respect disabled people, they aid elderly people, they listen to men with their emotional pain, and they are polite towards women by respecting their privacy.

Love this, thanks for putting it out there to not judge kids playing with toys, whatever gender they are and whatever the toy is. I had a girl first and so when my son was born all we had was pink toys and heโ€™s been brought up loving his peppa pig handbag and pushchair. He also has a dolls house and role plays families so often. He is now 4 and is turning more towards superheroes but it doesnโ€™t matter to me. He is also so sensitive and I love he cries when I cry, he has a heart and Iโ€™m embracing that so it doesnโ€™t disappear as people judge him for it. Let kids be kids and embrace all they are.

Honestly, Iโ€™ve become a lot tougher since having boys (I also have three) because my older two have been such an immense challenge. Theyโ€™re great kids, but they fight a TON, are ridiculously strong-willed, and my 8yo has ADHD and anger and depression issues. I donโ€™t โ€œgetโ€ them like my husband does, and they (and we) get judged because theyโ€™re active and loud. Itโ€™s very hard a lot of times, not gonna lie. But I love them immensely, and theyโ€™ve taught me so much. Youโ€™ve become such a role model to me, youโ€™re so calm and patient with your boys! Thankyou for doing this important video Emily. When I read the title of the vid I cringed a bit because of gender stereotyping but itโ€™s so great that you address that toxic masculinity so much throughout. I have boy and girl twins and theyโ€™ve been raised the same as eachother and itโ€™s so important to me for my kids to know that their gender doesnโ€™t mean anything about them as people. My father also died of suicide last year and I know how important it is to encourage our little boys to be ok with their feelings. Youโ€™re spot on with this vid and you can see it in how your boys are. Theyโ€™re delightful and obviously secure with themselves. You and Matt do such a great job xxx Lots if love to you all xxx

Oh this is so apt for me right now! Currently 36 weeks with my baby boy - coming from a family of all girls Iโ€™m definitely feeling a bit out of my depth and apprehensive but your tips were really helpful ๐Ÿ˜‡

You definitely have something to look forward to. I have three sisters and almost no male friends. When I found out I was having a boy I was so doubtful I could play โ€˜boy gamesโ€™. My boy is in the super hero fase and he has really made me expand my horizon and Iโ€™m super grateful for that.

I agree so much with ignoring gender stereotypes. My daughter likes playing with cars and trains and she is into helping fixing things with her dad. I would never think of not allowing her to do that. You are a great mum Emily๐Ÿ˜˜

Hi, I have a boy and a girl and also try to go out every single day. It really helps the day go better.
And for the all boys comments, we actually had some also: โ€œoh Iโ€™m sure your son would have preferred a baby brother.โ€
So I guess no matter what, thereโ€™ll always be some unwanted, unnecessary and quite mean comments. Just hoping it wonโ€™t affect the kids.
