Coachella isn’t worth going to if you’re on a budget. You NEED to buy a VIP ticket to truly enjoy it. The VIP areas aren’t crowded, the bathrooms in the VIP areas have REAL bathrooms which, let’s face it... make all the difference. The lines for food and drinks have either no wait times or are never more than a few minutes. With that being said, it’s A LOT of walking so you need to wear comfortable shoes, it’s in the desert so it’s dusty, so a handkerchief and glasses are a must! I completely agree about the paranoia of the backpack & in reality you don’t even need to carry nearly as much as you think you do so when deciding on an outfit, stick to comfortable fabrics & accessories. FOOD IS FUCKING EXPENSIVE, food items range from $10-20 and drinks are $9 on average, so it’s like going to your state fair- 3 days in a row. If you can afford the bike taxi’s, they are the way to go, your feet will thank you because if you walk from the first gate check in to the last, you’ll easily be walking for a mile, not to mention the miles of walking you’ll do inside the venue + dancing+ standing so yes your body will be run down by day 3. All in all, it’s an experience, the hotel rooms/home rentals are probably the biggest expense, a group of 4 should budget at least $100 a piece for Uber/lyft to take them to and from the event for the festival. Coachella is fantastic if it’s done right, weekend 1 is the weekend that most of the celebs attend & the men with money, so if you’re into that, then be prepared to shell out more money than if you were to go to weekend 2. With that being said, if you can muster the strength to party after the festival closes... celebs throw parties after Coachella, this year Diddy through a big party and so did The Weeknd - have fun, if you do drugs be safe, & enjoy.
