  • I'm vlogging my journey of applying for Personal independence payment. As someone who works and suffers with mental health issues, I feel it's going to be a massive battle so I will be vlogging the ups and downs of the process and sharing good and bad.
    In this video, I talk about sending my papers off and what evidence I used.

    Hi, new subscriber here! Hope you’re well. Thanks for sharing this, it’ll help a lot of people. I’ve recently been put on propranolol. Hopefully this will help with my anxiety. Along with the other self-care stuff I do to sooth it. High cortisol should be sorted to an extent with the propranolol. Adrenaline and cortisol are the hormones that cause anxiety, so I do all I can to lower my levels. Looking forward to your future content 🤗

    Hi I applied in November and got the form in December sent it back January and had my assessment 2 weeks ago just received letter saying no. It's so sad cos they really are telling you they don't think your suffering even with medical evidence.

    Evan if they turn you down and the mandatory reconsideration turn you down there is still hope you can apply to go to a independent tribunal. It's such a hard process and to be honest it's made my mental health much worse but be strong.

    Wishing you all the luck. I do recieve pip for mental health but it was such a battle and made me even more unwell. Atm i have a claim in under the new pip case law regarding mental health. I was going to make some videos as this affects millions of mentally ill people and there isnt much info about it. But i am too ill to do any videos atm.
    My only advice is to make sure you record the assesment.

      Can I ask what the new PIP case law is? Thanks

    • @charlottejane1183
      @charlottejane1183 3 년 전 +1

      @@SarahSmith-ym9ri a high court decided in 2018 that the pip questionnaire and assessment process was discrimatory towards mental health. As a result pip were to review all claims made during 2016 and 2018. I was in that group. They have hardly reviewed a fraction of the people affected. Now agencies such as CAB and welfare rights are telling people to put in a claim for a reviewa dn not wait for dwp to contact you as strong possibility they wont. If you provided evidence of mobility problems or social problems due to mental healh and had this disregarded or ignored, yoy could possibly get that decision over turned under the new case law and the dwp would have to refund you and put you on the correct rate for your condition. There is plenty of info online. Just google pip case law. Hope that helps.

      Hello, i came back here to tell you i won my appeal under the case law. It was such a shock. But i am proof it does happens. So if you had an assessment for mental health before june 2018 and you were scored low, make sure to phone or write to dwp to check you are included in the review. If you are not, inform them that you want to be.
      A review under thr case law will not affect any current claim you have. The leap team cannot reduce or remove your award.
      If they say they have reviewed your assesment and decided it was correct and if you disagree with this you can appeal it.
      I also hope OP has had good outcomes for your claim and health.

    I’ve been put on antidepressants for years now and just realised that hormonal imbalance/adrenal issues can cause and also worsen pre existing anxiety. If your cortisol is too high that means your other hormones (which effect sleep, mood etc) are deficient as well as vitamins. Unfortunately, the NHS don’t do much about correcting hormones, you’ll need to go to a private clinic, the top 2 I’ve found are called The Harpal Clinic or London clinic of nutrition, there pricey but they will correct a lot of things, the antidepressants are just masking these ever worsening issues.

    Hey Emma! I also sent my application form to be signed for on delivery. How long was it until they let you know they'd received your application, and how long did you wait until they informed you of when your assessment would be? My support worker is down to take part in my assessment with me, but I'm worried they'll try to give me a last minute assessment when my support worker is unavailable, then make me wait again until he is available. All the best, Claire Xxx.

    Im in the ESA support group for longterm depression, social anxiety, agorophobia & aspergers. Im unable to work, no friends / relationships & rely on parents for support whom i live with. I submitted a GP letter & my aspergers assessment alongside the questionaire. I had a phone assessment & the result was i only scored 2 points under Mixing With People. Im contestesting it under Mandatory Reconsideration claryfying & correcting the assesors report in a letter. It will probably go to tribunal. If you live alone, have a pet your resposible for, able to work, able to drive a car, have children, have friends or in a relationship then this will all go against you.
