More than two decades have passed since Sarah Connor prevented Judgment Day, changed the future, and re-wrote the fate of the human race. Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes) is living a simple life in Mexico City with her brother (Diego Boneta) and father when a highly advanced and deadly new Terminator - a Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna) - travels back through time to hunt and kill her. Dani's survival depends on her joining forces with two warriors: Grace (Mackenzie Davis), an enhanced super-soldier from the future, and a battle-hardened Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). It isn't a Terminator movie without a car chase sequence, where the evil terminator drives a big heavy vehicle and ends up in a horrific wreck.
And stealing clothes also fight in Some factory or a steel Mill or something its terminator tradition
or the famous line "I'll be back" gets mentioned somewhere.
Why is the heavy vehicle always faster than the pick-up truck ? Makes no sense.

Honestly the Rev 9 is my favorite terminator model. The movie may be bad, but the design for the Rev 9 is pretty dang good!
I mean I actually like the movie, even though it doesn't need to exist and compared to terminators in 4, 5 and this one I like the Rev-9 very much.

I also liked Rev-9 because it addressed the problem of the terminators being a little too human in fights. This one just runs straight toward the target trying to kill them every chance it can
Saving humanity from an apocalyptic future ruled by robots only to be replaced with an identical apocalyptic future ruled by robots. The writers really put in the work on this story.
Well what did you expect? Sure, they stopped Skynet by destroying all traces of it…including the proof of why they needed to do that.
They never once tried to explain to the government or even the UN why they needed to stop trying to create AI, but instead they decided to simply destroy the progress they were making. To the outside world, they were a bunch of terrorists who decided to bomb a technological company for “peace” or whatever reasons they’ve speculated.
Of course history would repeat. There was no one to try to educate everyone on why they should stop. Hell, WE are continuously researching AI in the real world now, despite the fact that we all acknowledge the very possibility that a real Skynet could become a reality one day.
Blame T3 for this, where the T-850 said Judgement Day's inevitable.

As bad as the story for this movie may have been, the fights in it are absolutely incredible, the cinematography and choreography are what really shine in this film

Really? From what I recall there was only this and the fight in the factory that fits your description. All the others are pretty naff and underwhelming, and that's not including the fact that you can barely see them because the rest of the film is so dark most of the time.

I'm still trying to figure out how the story was bad? All these movies are based on creating alternate futures, where the only thing that is certain is that we build machines that want to destroy us. This particular story was just "what if John conner was successfully terminated shortly after the events of T-2". The Sarah Connor Chronicles confirm what I'm saying as far as the cannon is.

“Most lethal” doesn’t mean “most indestructible.” A broken piece of glass is very lethal, but since it’s glass you can just break it.
And to be fair, most if not all terminators are meant to take serious punishment before going down. Hell even the t1000 and t3000 were supposed to be the most advanced models of their time, yet one got melted and the other disintegrated.
John Conner was raised to be a leader, he was taught everything what Sara learned from Kyle and what she could learn on her own, in T2 the Terminator told John future events giving him a edge as the resistance leader. This is why John was the future general, you can't just take some random girl or boy and replace John Conner. It makes no fucking sense.

No OP. In the original story john likely became a great leader by being thrust into it. I think the point is if there was no John, somebody else would have taken his place. Thats kinda the whole point. SOmebody would be the leader and it doens't matter if they die in the past it would just mean somebody else would be the leader.

The major problem with the terminator franchise is that it never moves forward every terminator movie foreshadows a future war but its never been properly put on film

this might be my favorite terminator movie, it explored the humanity of the robots and the implications of time travel more than the other movies, and it sucks that people hate this movie

Credit where it's due, this film is a bit better written than the other Terminator movies post T2.
Grace throws the rebar pieces at Rev-9, when she see's that isn't working, THEN she opts to destroy the tires. She might be an augmented soldier, but she's still human and capable of making mistakes and learning.
Rev-9 on the other hand is a machine devoted to logic. When he lands on the car his first action is to destroy the wheels. As is logical.
At least the characters act more like you'd expect.

Don’t care what other people think, this one is great.
I love how she throws 1 rod and he dodges it, she throws another and he catches it with one hand. Since he only has one hand free she throws two and he can't do anything about that lol and it pins him in until he separates into two. She puts so much emotion and struggle and fight into it that she freaking carries the whole movie. Gosh I love Grace.

John Connor at 10 years old had more emotional maturity and sold the "future leader of human resistance" better than this grown-ass girl.
There were just so many better cast members on her team. What genius thought that this young actor would be able to appeal to the audience when she's working with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Mackenzie Davis.
She was okay in the beginning but by the end everyone else is just better developed and more entertaining.
