I've been broke numerous times in my life and you do what you have to do to survive. It makes you respect money a lot more when you start doing better financially.

@@Readysetgo2007 when I was interning at the Cannes Film Festival. We were cutting a ribbon to kick off a section of the festival and she was the official ribbon cutter. She was really nervous and kept telling me that she really liked my jade bracelet. And that she gets really nervous at these type of events. I would too--the paparazzi are super aggressive and yelled out at her like she was a zoo animal. And I think we were the same age: 21 yrs old.

I had always love Christina Ricci ‘s acting since the Addams family and beyond. I hope that she gets to live a very good long life that we can watch her throughout her career. Her talent shines which makes it even more beautiful as an incredible human. I was so happy to see her perform in Yellow Jacket and she was my favorite character and she gave a stellar performance. She is such a character actress she can mold into any role

The added horror is Ricci went broke by also supporting extended family and friends as happens when on of the tribe finds financial success. I spent a year away from extended family, no contact, and saved 10k. Complicated stuff that is going to get worse if people don't stop buying things they do not need.

People really do think every actor and writer are paid the same and are all mega rich when making it into Hollywood. This is why the strikes are happening and are important. I’m really glad she shared a little of her story which she doesn’t owe us. She has shown she is a hard worker like anyone and struggling financially can happen no matter the status of a person famous or not.

It is interesting. Most modern kids won’t get their first taste employment until they’re 20s. This is the person that we are talking about experiencing financial hardship in middle adult life, who at 44 has literally been working for 35 years. And because of the nature of age discrimination in her industry is now facing the most difficult part of her career when most will be experiencing the most remunerative part of their career.

I remember the actor who played Elliot from ET he was interviewed why he stopped acting after Christopher walking suicide kings. basically he said you get broke fast getting paid acting gags can take forever. He even replied that he would never let his own kids get into the same career that's why now he has a farm stable income like he said he needs to put food on the table.
Even Matthew McConaughey said something very similar how one time he had no acting gigs for 10 years and then when he got a project that would pay him 13mil He denied it because like he said it's not a way of living it's not stable income. There are videos about it Matthew is Matthew decline 13 million dollars.

Yes and no there is another term for this than being broke and that Keeping up appurtenances. It is expansive to keep up an image you can no longer financial afford. Her parents didn’t do right by her. Jaleel “Urkel” White said he didn’t know how much he made til he was 15 years old. His mom never told him or showed him his money. He’s been acting since he was a little boy. Ms. Rocco’s parents should’ve put her money away, give her an allowance, and kept their day jobs. That would’ve been the right thing to do.
Hollywood abuses & neglects them.
