      @Troy No because I am a hard working college student that busted my butt to get to where I am, and I cannot imagine having my well deserved spot in college stolen from me by a rich entitled girl who didn't even care about college. I don't usually agree with the media, so no it is not because the media told me to it is because I have formed my own opinion and reached the conclusion that what that family did is totally wrong. Also it would be to and not too.

    • @makeupanddance1548
      @makeupanddance1548 4 년 전 +8

      @Troy In this situation the colleges did not benefit from it only certain individuals, such as the crew coach. The actual way to stop it would be to use Lori and all the other individuals involved as an example and show that there are real consequences.

    • @makeupanddance1548
      @makeupanddance1548 4 년 전 +4

      @Troy The video was about Lori and her family, I've never had any personal issue with Lori in fact I was big fan of hers and big fan of Olivia Jade before this situation. I think EVERY PERSON involved especially Rick Singer and each of the families deserves to face serious consequences. I didn't "expose myself" I assumed you would have enough sense to realize I was referring to everyone involved and not just one specific family.

    Why is this news? They are people, they deserve to live. It's their parents mess, they will pay for it, the girls already paid by not being able to finish school and spending time on lock down after everything broke down. Let them live.

    • @makeupanddance1548
      @makeupanddance1548 4 년 전 +19

      They didn't pay for anything, neither of the girls wanted to go to school in the first place so not being able to finish was probably more of a reward than a punishment to them. I agree that it is their parents mess more than theirs, but at the same time they did pose for photos to make it look like they were on the crew team so clearly they knew what was going on. They should be able to live their lives I'm not suggesting they don't , but perhaps they should face some consequences (and losing a few brand deals is not consequences) and perhaps show some remorse before they publicly live their lives though.

      i mean social media influencers have taken over a large part of the advertising industry, it’s how they get paid and how businesses can market their products for a fraction of the price of a commercial. and not only that it’s become a source of entertainment because we’re so attached to social media now. i definitely wouldn’t call it “reprehensible” lol bc why does choosing a certain career path mean you need to be punished? unless they’re doing something bad or using their platform to spread hate or false information i don’t see the issue. it’s just a new type of career that we didn’t have before, and new careers show up all the time. not all jobs help people and that’s just how it is. we have the same fixation with social media influencers as we do with celebrities it’s just a different type so as long as there’s social media, there will be influencers.

    What their parents did was disgusting, how much Olivia and Bella had to do with it we don’t know, but they are young and they did what their parents told them. They have their whole lives ahead of them and turning them into villains isn’t cool. They should at least be able to go out in public without being criticized for it. I’m not saying they didn’t have a fault in the whole thing and I think brands were right in dropping Olivia but at the end of the day they are still people who need to be able to a life.

    • @betterleftunsed

      yea she can have a life. as long as she never tries do do anything publicly again. she can go have a little modest low key job somewhere (or more likely no job, just living off mommy and daddy's money for life as she has no skills or talent and is admittedly lazy). any endorsement deals, making money through the internet... she's DELUSIONAL if she thinks there will ever be a day that the public doesn't bury her before they let that happen.

Aside from leaving KRplus and losing a few brand deals they've continued living their normal lives and have not paid any price for their mistakes. Personally I don't think Olivia should ever return to KRplus. She stole a spot at USC from a deserving student and now she needs to feel what it's like to have something stolen from her.

      MakeupandDance 15 The price of their entire lives being flipped over. Obviously they’re still rich, but it’s clear from reports that they’ve suffered emotionally. Wobble Bop I can honestly say I’d put that same standard on anyone I know personally, it’s just more public when it’s a celebrity and that’s honestly expected when you have fame. Their entire lives have clearly not been flipped over losing a few brand deals and voluntarily leaving KRplus is nothing. They’re still rich and enjoying life and seem unbothered by the situation. The only big difference is they aren’t in college but like I previously mentioned they didn’t even want to be there in the first place.

    • @wobblebop4611

      MakeupandDance 15 I doubt you’d put public shame and humiliation against anyone you knew personally. I doubt you know the Guannulis personally so your guess that they don’t seem bothered seems rather uneducated to me. I think that having millions of people calling you the things they are calling Olivia and her family at the moment is a far worse punishment than any private/not famous citizen would face. Some examples of what I’ve read on her posts and what has come up the most include: “don’t worry you can still do porn” “don’t worry your mom will end up loving the big house if she drops the soap” “next video: diy prison cell makeover”. These are not things that I would like being said to anyone ever, whether I know them personally or not. To pretend that they deserve that level of hatred and disgusting comments is just plain wrong.

    • @makeupanddance1548

      @@wobblebop4611 I don't think they deserve public shame especially being so young, because those things can affect a young person. I do however think legal consequences are important. It's not educated to assume they're unbothered, because any person who is embarrassed or feels guilty is not going to step into the public eye and have a good time. You are entitled to your opinion and I to mine. The point is what they did was wrong and I'd say the same for any person famous or not if I was aware of them doing the same.

      @Troy it doesn't matter when the pics where taken...with the pics and manipulated application etc..this is evidence they were aware of the fraudulent conspiracy, participated in it willingly, and acted to advance the conspiracy..I mean you think they didn't know that they were part of the rowing team? ..btw it's in the news that they could be charged..and imo they should..not as harshly as their parents of course, but they should.. they knew what they were doing..

      Lori Loughlin Pleads Not Guilty to New Charges in College Admissions Case - Could Her Daughters Be Charged?

      November 4, 2019
      Lori Loughlin is pleading not guilty to the latest charge against her in the college admissions scandal. On November 1, lawyers representing the former Hallmark Channel actress and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, filed documents asking a judge to accept their not guilty pleas to charges of federal programs bribery, ABC News reported.

      Loughlin and Giannulli were hit with the bribery charge on October 22, along with nine other parents. Federal prosecutors say the parents bribed “employees of the University of Southern California (USC) to facilitate their children’s admission.”
      Previously, the couple was charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to commit mail fraud, and honest services mail fraud. They have also pleaded not guilty to those charges. Each faces more than 40 years in prison if found guilty.
      Loughlin - who played Aunt Becky on Full House and the Netflix reboot Fuller House - and Giannulli are accused of paying $500,000 to guarantee that their two daughters, Isabella Rose Giannulli and Olivia Jade Giannulli, were admitted to USC as crew recruits, even though neither was active in the sport.

      Andrew Lelling, the top federal prosecutor on the Operation Varsity Blues case, has said that Loughlin could receive a tougher sentence than some other defendants if she is convicted, especially if the case goes to trial.
      “If she’s convicted, I don’t think I’m giving away any state secrets by saying that we would probably ask for a higher sentence for her than we did for Felicity Huffman,” he told Boston’s WCVB on October 6. “I can’t tell you exactly what that would be.” Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison for paying to have the answers on her daughter’s SAT corrected. She has already served her time and been released.
      So far, none of the children of parents who participated in the scheme have been charged. But a former federal prosecutor says that Olivia and Isabella should not assume they are in the clear.
      “The girls will likely have to testify against their parents if there is a trial,” Neama Rahmani told People. But they could also face criminal charges, especially if prosecutors decide to play hardball, she said.
      “[T]hey could also be charged as defendants,” Rahmani explained. “The government has made it clear that they are going to keep increasing pressure on both Lori and Mossimo,” says Rahmani. “By not pleading, Lori and Mossimo are exposing their children to being charged.”
      Were Isabella and Olivia in on the scheme?
      Prosecutors have been focused on going after the parents who are said to have paid large sums of money to ensure their kids were admitted to elite schools. The role - if any - the students themselves played in the scheme is unclear. But Rahmani told SheKnows that there’s a chance that the Giannulli daughters knew what their parents were doing on their behalf.
      “There are fake photos of [Olivia Jade and Isabella] on rowers,” she added. “They submitted fake applications to USC…they can’t argue it was all mom and dad. They are involved.”
