FSU found out they weren’t in the CFP and it’s clear they gave up long before this game took place.
Georgia found out they weren’t in the CFP and they proved to the world they should’ve been in the conversation.

The only surprising part of this entire game was that UGA didn’t score in the last 11 minutes of the 4th quarter and run it up to a 100+ score game.

The Back to Back Champs showed up to play, didn't care they got taken out. FSU cried they didn't get picked and everyone opted out of the game. This game truly showed a championship program against one who thought they were.
This was the result of corruption that has ran rampant in the ncaa and a protest by fsu. The monopolist conglomerate in ncaa wanted to set a precedent so the students did as well. These kids and public universities were led into an American competition with meritocracy in mind, unknowing it was more akin to the electoral voting system.

The craziest part about this score is the fact that Georgia DIDN’T run the score up on FSU. Carson Beck didn’t even touch the football after the 2nd quarter. Kirby even had the 3rd string QB out there to end the game.

I was listening to some FSU fans talk about if they would have had their star QB and all the players who opted out that it would have been a different game. I agree, it would have ended up GA 56, FSU 10.

Kirby Smart said it right. College football is going to have to figure out what to do to enable teams to have their full arsenal for bowl games to make them more interesting. If 23 fsu players didn't opt out, the stadium would've been 100% full. No one wants to watch backups play in a new years 6 bowl game. Bowls have to be loosing tons of money due to players opting out. I'm so thankful Bo Nix didn't opt out of the Fiesta bowl. I want to see how Liberty matches up with a relevant power 5 team.

Proud of my Dawgs. Excellent victory to finished the season. Stockton could be the next Stetson Bennett
Epic beatdown. FSU drew the wrong bowl invitation pairing up with the Dawgs. The Dawgs had a lapse in 2019 Sugar Bowl after a disappointing playoff snub but Kirby learned from that situation and is one of the best motivators in the game. FSU made the committee look right to some degree although UGA should have gotten in over Texas if you want the best 4 teams.
This is exactly why FSU isn’t in the playoffs. Everyone was outraged but the committee got it right

That’s ridiculous, UGA choked the SEC championship game so they didn’t want to end on a sour note and wanted to redeem themselves with this game. FSU did everything correct, won every game - went 13-0 , and was snubbed of the college playoffs. They didn’t care for this match because they know they shouldn’t have been put at this level of play. Opting out is the only way to make it shown to the committee that they won’t be fucked over any more

@@capfc1294 Wow! They really showed them huh? I’m sure it taught that committee a valuable lesson. Only thing they showed is when things don’t go their way they quit. Reality is I think they still would’ve lost even with all their players. I wouldn’t necessarily consider UGA losing by 3 to a team likely to win it all as choking. Especially when you consider the performance FSU displayed against Louisville who then got dismantled by an unranked USC. Go into work next week and ask for a raise, when they don’t give you one just quit and see if they call you and beg you to come back and offer you that raise. How did everyone NOT see this result coming? FSU has been saying since the Selection show, what does it matter? 13-0, undefeated conference champ, left out of the playoff because of one player being injured, rendering the regular season pointless. I'm a fan of an SEC school, but this FSU team was missing essentially every piece that got them to an undefeated, conference champion record. Using this game to bolster your argument against FSU making the playoff makes you the clown, not FSU fans upset they got hosed by the committee.

A Tale Of Two Teams: both have great seasons, very deserving of a post season appearance. Both get left out of the playoffs, and rightfully so regardless of your feelings about it. The difference is, one team pouts and complains, while the other team (2 time defending champs) comes to play and show they deserved getting in. Here are the results.
There’s no such thing as complaining when the conglomerate is falsely represented as a meritocracy for over 5 decades. 28 starters out... the blame is on the coach and the culture he allows. GA stayed together after being kept out of the playoffs because they are a family. We still would have lost by a minimum of 21 had all star our players been on the field. Had JT not been injured... who knows how the season could have ended.

As an FSU fan, after JT went down. I knew even if we had won out we weren't going in. I also knew that even with JT we may not make it out of that frist playoff game 😂 I'm a realist. We struggled against teams we should have this year... all the ones that stated all that mess are delusional fans and no they are not the majority of our fan base. Every other FSU fan I know personally thought the same way I did.

Opt-outs and transfers are ruining bowl season. I understand star players not wanting to jeopardize their futures, but the fact remains that this bowl season has had more lopsided games due to any missing players than ever before. As a fan of the game, it sucks.
Make the portal period after all bowl games.. one week....
Get rid of every bowl game except the playoffs, and expand the playoff to 64 teams.

Agreed. The NFL needs to put in some time of mitigation to prevent this. Maybe any starting player opting out of a bowl game heading to the draft is added to the supplemental or 7 round. If they are out of the big money they may stay and make an effort.
I think there needs to be a stipulation in both NIL and Coach's contracts that state you must play through a bowl game should the team make a conference championship/bowl game.
I am watching the highlights for every bowl game in order and so far this has been the hardest to get through. Most of the others were at least close for a while
