I feel bad for MICH fans because this guy just doesn't have it. He's a medicore college coach, but for some reason people are ignoring it. The next 5 seasons I don't see MICH as a threat at all.

As an Auburn fan who is still recovering from his bumpy ride on board the Gus Bus, I feel for you Michigan fans.
As an Alabama fan I was hoping Gus would get a long extension.
Was never the same after that blown lead in the title game vs. f.s.u. I think it defined the destiny of the program. Potential recruits said "dude can't hold a 21-3 lead in a game for the natty, I'll head to Tuscaloosa and sign with Saban."

ALL sports contracts, including professional players, should be base salary + performance/incentive bonuses. I've been saying it for years. Paying sports people based upon past/expected performance is insanity.
Harbaugh a good coach and has made improvements at Michigan. Wish him well raising the bar some more. We need another school like Michigan to compete for national titles again.

if you look at the contract, it's not that bad. He's taking a 4 million pay cut, but could make 8 million all together with incentives, plus you have low buyout clause.

Michigan is the football equivalent of the LA Clippers. They focus so much on Ohio State (Lakers) that they lose sight of the rest of the B10(Western Conference).
Hairball was a little bit to worried about what Nick Saban was doing at Alabama than building his program early on.
Doesn't seem like they focused on OSU at all with their record. Don't get me wrong - Buckeye Nation ain't complaining.

Here's the thing... there is a talent gap between Ohio State and Michigan. The thing is, the talent gap isn't on the field. It's on the sidelines. Michigan has almost as good of a recruiting class year in and year out, yet Ohio State has about a half dozen or so players get drafted every year, they always have at least 1 or 2 first round picks, but Michigan doesn't. If the input is similar but the end product is wildly different, then the only answer is the process.

Michigan is where Ohio State was in the 90's...Coach Cooper treated THE GAME as just another game and it showed. When Coach Tressel took over it wasn't hard to get the team and fans hyped. THE GAME was THE GAME again, same with Coach Meyer and now Coach Day. I've seen interviews with Michigan players where they say they can feel the hate when they get on the field with the Buckeyes, they can sense that distain when they walk by them. That's not the case with Michigan anymore. They don't seem to have that fire in them and its shows more and more each year that Harbaugh has been there. His extension is good for Ohio State's recored but is hurting THE GAME! I tweeted this to Harbaugh telling him his team acted like they got defanged/declawed by a vet. GO BUCKEYES!

I need to focus on the present and the future, so instead of dwelling on Michigan footballs embarrassing dominance of Indiana football for so many years I need to start concentrating on Michigan basketball surpassing Indiana basketball and the dominance beginning over Indiana in that sport. Including the most recent easy win in Bloomington where Michigan toyed with Indiana and coasted to a ridiculously easy win.
Indiana basketball is so important to people in Indiana because its really all they have so Michigan passing Indiana in that sport has to be particularly hard on them. And with Michigan having the number one recruiting class next year I will have even more to talk about.

Michigan has enough talent to compete with Ohio State. Michigan for whatever reason is not developing that talent.
Ohio St has starters for any Power 5 school, with the exception of Alabama and Clemson, sitting 3 deep on their roster. Michigan is currently one deep for starters. I have been Maize and Blue since I came into this world. I honestly believe it is the University forcing the athletic department to go all woke. It was 4 seasons ago now that the team started playing with no passion, the coaching staff basically turned into statues over night as well. Trying to develop recruiting classes that are ½ 3 star players is a recipe for failure for a team whose fan base acts like their team is up there amongst the elites. This team is not... Other than '97 this team has averaged 2.7 loses per season since Bo came to town. It has a very subpar bowl record during those years as well... This team is "average" across the board and will remain so as long as the coaching staff is having to develop the entire team every single season...
As a Michigan fan. Ward Manuel should be ashamed. This is the worst most mind boggling re hire of all time. He has done nothing for this program why keep him. Hoke and Rodriguez were better.
With Harbaugh, Michigan is now at a mid American conference level. Perhaps Michigan should try to be in that conference as they may be somewhat competitive again.

If you're a Buckeye fan, you should want Michigan to be good.. then y'all wanna call it a "great" rivalry and get mad when people say that Alabama-Auburn rivalry is better.. at least Auburn will beat Alabama sometime.
