Let's see how it goes when the next season starts. If the 49ers or the Panthers draft Wilson, it'll be much better for him than for Fields(if he got drafted by the Jets)

he's got some of the best receivers in college football, none of the clemson safeties or corners could cover them. He made lots of average/decent throws and a couple of good ones and that got him his performance.

However, I can see this logic working for other positions in certain cases. If there is a starting DLineman from OSU in the draft, I'd expect him to be well-coached and polished for as long as Larry Johnson is at the school coaching that position group.

The defense also lead the league in forced turnovers which gave the offense the field position necessary to score. Sanchez wasn’t very good overall but at his best he was mediocre.

And if you've watched BYU play over the past few years, do you think Justin Fields is leading that team to the playoff? Looking at both of them, it's clear they both have huge upside, and it's really just a matter of what the Jet's think about which QB will work better in their scheme. Regardless of who gets taken first, they'll both get a chance to prove what they got. As a BYU fan, I would definitely prefer Zach to drop to a better team than just have been a higher draft pick.

I don't know which players you have been watching all season. If you watched zach's bowl he carved up the offense with perfect throws all around.

Not to mention, Wilson's less stellar stats from 2019 were created with an injured throwing shoulder. He only went back in to play because BYU would've been using their 4th string quarterback if stayed off the field to heal completely.

I would recommend that he do that because of the 2 other QBs that went into NFL before that didn't do well. Him having another 12 games in college would give him a better foundation to succeed in the NFL. He's had 1.5 years as a starting QB in college that all I'm saying.

Fields was a 5 star recruit 2nd only to Lawrence. Wilson was a 3 star recruit who is small and already has had major shoulder surgery. Who you play against matters and Fields has had the tougher opponents no doubt.

John Beck and Taysom hill were their last best QBs before Z.wilson but there have been other players that they build out of 2- lower 4 star athletes in other positions because the higher 4 and 5 stars go to bigger schools. Jamal williams (RB), Kyle Van Noy (Lb), Daniel Sorenson (SS) Michael Davis (Cb) Fred Warner (lb) Sione Taikitaiki (lb). All from Byu still play starting roles not to mention others on practice squads like the kafusi brothers. Byu has the reputation to produce Cleaner and safer players with their background. NFL teams just want the typical SEC 5 star athletes more

Also, it's nearly impossible to compare a QB at BYU to one at Ohio State or GA or one of the big schools. You can say those QBs have better weapons but they are also up against pro level defenders as well. Having a high level DE baring down on you cannot be simulated. Josh Allen is good, but also in a great situation. If knowing only what we knew about Josh Allen on draft day, I'd take Lawrence and Fields ahead of him in this draft. And based on what I know about those two, I believe they would be successful on that Billls team.

Some of the most exciting QBs in the league are black, but I see this as more of an Ohio State thing. I can’t remember the last good QB they produced. J.T Barrett, Terrelle Tryor, Cardale Jones, and Dwayne Haskins come to mind. The don’t coach these kids and their athletic ability isn’t enough on its own at the NFL level.

The NFL gives the Wunderlick test and can have prospective players meet with psychologists, although it rarely occurs. They do background checks on prospective players all the way back to High School. Every wonder why a player falls out of the 1st round after being labeled a sure thing? The NFL finds out if you have any bad habits, run ins with the law, surrounding yourself with bad people and check your study habits from high school and college. But they really cannot catch them all. The NBA does the same thing, ever wonder why there are so many Eastern European players now, while you see 6’ 9” all Americans playing at the local park? Bad personality or bad habits.
