These “pro” draft analysts haven’t given Mac Jones a lot of credit because his lack of “mobility.” Dude has great mechanics, great pocket awareness, steps into the pocket and is accurate. These analysts all about mobility and athleticism but for every Mahomes and Watson, you have a Trashbisky and Haskins who are athletically gifted but trash QBs. Mac Jones is the real deal, I love Tua but I think Mac Jones has better mechanics than him.
Semperguy, every time I've seen Jones scamper he picks up good yardage.

He's Brady's replacement and he's much quicker than Brady ever was and he went on to be possibly the greatest quarterback to ever live. I'll take a smart QB over an athletic QB any day.

I was blown away with Mac last year when he came in to replace Tua in the MSU game. This kid isnt afraid to throw into coverage and can fire the ball and is ACCURATE!! I was like "OMG"! Mac Jones is going to be the QB that whoever drafts him the NFL draft is going to be a team leader.

Jones threw the nicest, most consistent deep passes I ever remember seeing any Bama QB throw. Just freakish accuracy and touch. He has B- arm strength but A+ footwork and vision.

That means the SEC is EXTREMELY top heavy while the rest of Tether conference is a joke for the most part. Miss St, Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri are basically G5 teams or FCS teams in the case of Vandy and Tennessee most years. Florida lost to an FCS team in 2013 and almost lost to another one this year while giving up the most single-game points in program HISTORY to an FCS team with a losing record lol.
Tennessee lost to Georgia State who they were favored to beat by like 28.5 points at home.
South Carolina lost to The Citadel (FCS) at home with 22 more scholarship athletes.
Vandy...well, they haven't had a winning season since the dinosaurs roamed the earth lol

In the Big 10 you have Ohio State, Iowa, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin always fighting for conference lead every year. You can't really say that about any other conference having that many teams in the hunt year in and year out. The Big 10 teams outside of Ohio State have just laid eggs in late in the season to drop then out of national title contention. But it's overall more competitive

Man it's amazing how a lot of people changed their minds about how really good Mac is.
This was the best College team I have seen, they played together, they were a textbook team from the Coaches to the bottom of the staff and players, no wonder why they had a Heisman winner. GREAT TEAM.

I don’t understand how scouts say pocket passers with good reads and accuracy have a low ceiling when Tom Brady is the GOAT. Like how are these limiting if the best to ever do it has the same “limitations?”
Those type of QBs need good defenses and great coaching. You can’t count on having those two, but luckily Mac went to the only place he’d succeed in
He wasn't muscular , fast enough and his arm was to weak . Teams want athletic , muscular , jock type running quarterback's that get figured out after 3 seasons or are washed up by the time they turn 30 from being hit to many times .
Apparently the league hasn't been paying attention to the Patriots for the past 20 years. The job of the quarterback is to be intelligent and to get rid of the ball as fast as possible with quick accurate throws to minimize turnovers . Teams like Qb's that huck the ball 30 yards down the field 10 times a game with 2-3 interceptions lol. Belichick is a genius who basically simplifies the game while most coaches try to be rock stars . The longer that the ball is in play the higher the risk of a turnover . Run first until you have to pass.
That was an absolute clinic. If smith doesn’t go out and Bama “had to” they could have put 70+ points. Number one or two offenses in history. Sark just showed out this year.

its amazing how out of the 5 QBs taken early Jones was the most Pats ready. He was the most molded to be a Patriot. Lawrence and Feilds are generational talents and I know Lance amd Wilson will have great careers. But Mac has the best chance out of the 5 to be successful
As a Pats fan I'm so glad we got this kid. Mobility won't be an issue, he ran a 4.8 40 which is the same as Baker, and around the same as Burrow, plus he has better pocket movement. People say he was a product of his talent around him, yet Tua had even more and was selected 5th overall, Joe Burrow had Jammar Chase, Justin Jefferson, and CEH with a pretty good oline as well and went #1, and managed to do well with the Bengals despite having an awful oline before the injury. So Pats getting Mac at 15 is a steal in my eyes. He's walking into a much better situation than Burrow as well with a better coaching staff, a very good oline, solid running game, a great defense, and while the Pats don't have a true number 1 WR, Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, Bourne, James White, Jonnu, and Henry is a solid receiving corps. Not to mention they drafted Nixon who's 6ft 185lbs who runs 4.4 40 and has a 36in vert. I'm hoping he beats out Cam, because like Burrow this kid is ready to play right away, and if he does I could see the Pats going 10-7 or 11-6 and sneaking into a playoff spot

Jones reminds me of Aaron Rodgers because of his pocket awareness and presence. He looks super comfortable back there too, in control and nothing is forced. People say he's overlooked because of the talent around him, well put him on a team with existing talent and he can do big things. Hope my 49ers get him.

Its not that hard to watch these highlights and acknowledge that even tho his team is phenomenal, Mac Jones is still playing really good football and is just as much responsible for their success as the rest of his roster. Makes great decisions with the ball, plenty of arm talent, great chemistry with his teammates.
I agree. He was drafted at right spot by Pats. I would not have traded 3 1st round picks for any of these quarterbacks. None. I think some are better than Mac but he is a solid pic. I hope he proves out to be the best. I see some concerns but he may fix what I see or I am just wrong. Can't wait to see how he handles pressure and better smarter corners and safeties.

He had a great game. Notice how almost ALL of his throws went to the first read. Don't get me wrong, the throw still needed to be made but it was always the first read and that read always had separation.
