I don't necessarily disagree with keeping Sam Darnold, but I disagree on the reasoning. Just because you had someone graded higher 3 years ago than someone now (which in of itself looks flawed, but a different discussion) doesn't mean that's where they are right now. Darnold needs to go to another team to have a chance at success. Fields is crazy talented and people overreacted to his bad game against Northwestern when he was missing 23 guys. And guess what, Northwestern might be legit as well.

He’s been one of the worst QBs in the NFL this season. If they give him another chance and he still sucks then what? His rookie contract is up after next season unless they pick up his 5th year option and that definitely won’t happen if he continues to play like he has been. “He’s shown promise” isn’t enough and how high he was rated coming out of college is irrelevant. The Jets have to draft a QB at pick #2, end of story.

Ya'll must understand, this position was perhaps, 95% white once upon a time, with a few bruthas here and there. Now, that position is about 33% Black. The best QBs are Black. We seen it with White House mobs yesterday, many White people have a sense of conservativ-ism. They don't like change. It makes them uncomfortable. This is change.

Jackson Smith thats not true in the slightest, most QB’s who are drafted usually have better coaching staff and GM’s who prepare for them once they come out the draft, heck the Chiefs even gave Mahomes a year to settle before he was ready, and it will probably take time for Burrow and Cinci to really get going aswell. It is evident that Darnold is a talented QB, just watch the tape, the problem is at the top, I mean it cant be a coincidence that the Jets havent had a good QB since Joe Namath. Their franchise just sucks
@@alfiebruce8998 if mahomes was on the jets they would have won 7 games just on him alone. If you keep talking about how your qb needs more help just to look average he’s probably not that good. Not every one makes it in the NFL. Trade down for picks and draft Zach Wilson or trey lance.More explosive 🔥🔥🔥

You can't blame the roster or coaching when a washed up JOE FLACCO played far better than Sam this year, not only are his stats better but the offense actually looked decent with Flacco in and horrible with Darnold. All the sudden with Darnold's inability to consistently read defenses and be accurate OUT, Perriman and Mims looked really good with Flacco. With Darnold in they seem useless, they are open regularly but even in wins Darnold struggles to get them the ball.

Both Gase and Maccagnan are gone now so it’s not the same team that Darnold was drafted onto. Fields will be fine

They have alot of weapons, but I watched alot football....I seen that their is alot of terrible (bad) quarterbacks in the college ranks..mac has improved in is probably the best pocket passer in college,just cant run.puts the ball on the money.

In Elite 11 2017, Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields played each other and Fields outplayed Lawrence and it was not even close. Now this was them in high school and Lawrence has always been crowned the #1. They've both played each other in college twice and there was no question who played better in each of those games, and that would be Justin Fields.
Now look at the two games that Fields struggled, which was Indiana and Northwestern. Northwestern just beat Auburn 19-35 in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl and Indiana lost to Ole Miss 20-26 in the Outback Bowl, and Indiana didn't have their starting QB, who was playing as well as anybody in college football before his injury. Against Ohio State he had 491 passing yards and 5 TDs, so that's how good this guy was. So I believe that both Indiana and Northwestern are that good to be in the top ten. Justin Fields is lucky because people are not willing to look at him objectively, so if he falls in the draft he'll end up with a better team just like Lamar Jackson. As for me, I know who is the best QB in this year's draft but I hope Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, and all the QBs going into the draft continue to shine even brighter than they are today.

I don't think people understand how young Darnold is.... Darnold is going to fit perfectly in that 49ers scheme it's not even funny. Jets will keep him. Fields or Wilson won't work well in that scheme.

At the 2020 draft Joe Douglas didn't take a QB in the 4th round for nothing. The Jets already have a Qb on their team who has great vision and a great arm too. Sleeping on James Morgan would be the wrong thing to do and it would only mean that Joe Douglas wasted a 4th round pick. I do not believe Joe wasted that pick. Nobody even talks about James Morgan who is mobile and has an arm to go with it. If it isn't going to be Sam, than I want James Morgan to get his shot at being our Qb. I believe this kid has it all and he is sitting on our bench right under our noses. Don't let Bill get him up in NE because James Morgan is the real deal.

Mel is delusional rating Darnold just below Burrow. Not even close. One is a stud, the other a dud. Darnold is a TO machine. He was @ USC & is as a Jet. I’m not an Ohio State fan much less Buckeye QB enthusiast. However, IF (BIG IF), IF, Fields has a solid game let alone upsets Bama in a solid performance, Jets should take Fields #2. If Fields underwhelms regardless of game outcome, then Jets should take Penei Sewell #2 overall.
