McShay has been wrong so many times that I'm not sure how he can ever be viewed as a viable source for the draft. He plays with little more than tea leaves.

As far as judging QBs off of what school he goes to and the history. Nobody judged hurts or tua for playing at bama even though all their QBs are working at ESPN now. Also Ohio state has been running a different offensive scheme under Ryan day. You want to know what happens to QBs that are elite at reading defenses ? Most become OCs

Tua and Jalen were graded different cause Tua had extreme hype after his half against Georgia,Then dominant seasons going forward. Jalen improved significantly when he went to Oklahoma thats what got him drafted.
Thats true all great QBs though who can read defenses have better potential coaching. Like Mccown,Kellen Moore,Tommy Rees etc.

As a Falcons fan, I'll be hella pissed if they draft Zack Willson, unless they're using him for a trade package to get Deshaun Watson. Otherwise, get Fields, let him sit behind Ryan for a year(due to contract) and then start him in the 2022 .

Justin Fields played less than half the games Trevor Lawrence played in.
Lawrence played all four years as a starter.
Based on inexperience alone, Fields’ numbers are incredible.

Todd Mcshay is biased at best... To put Zac Wilson ahead of Justin Feilds is laughable. Feilds out played Lawrence in both head to head meeting in my opinion. Feilds stats are just as good or better than Lawrence. If Jets pass on Feilds, Atlanta will surely draft him or jeopardize their fan base like Kirby Dumb did with the Uga Bulldogs.

The Falcons will take Justin. He is a hometown kid and in my opinion is just as good as Trevor Lawrence. 15 is ridiculous. Justin is a 5 Star Elite 11 Champion.

A Fields Falcon's jersey will sell a lot more than a Lawrence Jaguar's jersey. Fields can make up the overall #1 pick money with jersey and merchandise money with the Falcons alone.
I kind of agree, maybe. Fields has more marketability maybe. Though, Lawrence as a decent guy might help his marketability a little. He reminds me a little of Peyton without some of the bravado.

People forget Rodgers fell to 24. Russ to the second round. Lamar to 32. All very good college QBs so it’s not just like they blossomed in the NFL and became MVP caliber QBs. It’s not crazy to think of a talented QB falling to 15.
That's true, but the nfl has most likely taken notice of those guys, and there's a lot of QB thirsty teams picking top 10 this year. If Fields is on the board, there's no way he gets past Carolina. I have a feeling teams will reach for QBs just because there's a lot of talent at the position in this draft
Justin Fields to the Falcons will sell a whole lot of Jerseys and merchandise. Falcons can make a bundle along with Fields with them drafting him. Plus, Fields can have a chance to sit and learn for about 2 years before they see Ryan off.
The Jets are going qb plain and simple. With a good game in the championship Fields will be #2. Otherwise Fields isn't getting past Carolina.
If the jets draft anyone besides Lawrence at QB that is an extremely dumb move. Assuming lawrence goes 1, they need to go sewell or WR. Fields would be a bad pick, zach Wilson would be a really bad pick

Not one person in this thread nor Greeny have represented McShay correctly. I’m not a McShay guy, but the rules of the mock say NO trades. That said McShay in his own words said Fields will likely be picked in the top 5 whether it be by a standing team or a trade. He predicted that a team would trade up, and in this case that “15th” pick represents the patriots trading up for the pick to get fields. It’s frustrating that this is Green’s job and he didn’t know or chose to omit that fact.
Fields is more comparable to deshuan watson.
he’s a little bit bigger iirc, but isn’t as accurate, the drop back is about the only other difference. fields uses his momentum when dropping back and it hurts him on blitzes then switches it to run, deshaun leans forward and doesn’t run as strong but is ready to avoid tackles, it honestly depends on where he goes he could be a lot like deshaun watson imo

As a Falcons fan I am surprised that absolutely no one has mentioned how weak that OL was this year. If Falcons pick that OT out of Oregon they can move Matthew’s to RT and get that RT pushed to guard where he is really supposed to be. Alex Mack is gone as well and it will take another half season for that new Center to gel. If you have an elite OLine Matt Ryan will be great

6 games reg season, 1.5 unimpressive games. Everyone ignores Fields was 9-9 200 yards and 2 TD's second half vs Indiana. Preseason Heisman finalist, projected 2nd pick in the draft. 1.5 bad games and hint of Dwayne Haskins getting cut did him in. He needs to Ace Bama to even be considered over Wilson.

These days the draft experts, Kiper in particular, like to force their person opinions onto the “draft expert” world, pushing players they favor or dropping players they dislike, instead of ranking purely on talent and upside. He can look like an ice skater, as long as he can launch darts down a football field.

Mac jones has the best qbr ever ( one point above burrow), smith and waddle are better then chase and jefferson. And najee harris is ahead of helaire. They had three players finish in the top 5 in heisman voting and waddle didn't even play most of the season. I'm going to have to give it to 2020 Alabama in a close race. Joe burrow was a monster and jefferson and chase were impossible to guard. Helaire was much better then people think he was just overshadowed by the passing game. But the lines are about even, lsu wins qb and te battle. Alabama wins rb and wr battle. It could go either way, but I'll have to go Alabama. I am biased though since bama is my team.

Players drafted to their home state rarely works out.. as much as Fields would be great in Atl, and he comes from a great family, not sure.. then again, knowing his makeup, it may be a moot point
