All I was hearing going up to the fight was Mcgregor, Mcgregor, Mcgregor, I always thought it was up in the air, a man who has nothing to lose is the first man you should fear, not the man who has it all.
that was all the usual fake hype though. conor is always made up to be better than he is. he was 1-1 at LW, what was dustin, like 11-2? conor had never even fought one top 10 contender in the division. he was ridiculously over-hyped. and they are still doing it, even here. pre-fight, conor was now humble and respectful, family life has calmed him and made him more focussed, yada. yada, yada. he's now conor 2.0 and evolving into conor 3.0, blah, blah, blah. he was better than ever, he was going to paint a masterpiece in there, he was winning in the first minute, he's the best striker ever in mma, he's the best boxer, he's the goat, laughable, etc, etc, etc. then post-fight, suddenly he wasn't motivated, he didn't prepare, he can't be a part-time fighter, etc, etc, etc. even dc here is making the same excuses.
conor has never been the dominant fighter since moving up, that he was down at FW. and that goes back to before floyd gave him his red panty night. and don't blame the money, because the best boxers still get motivated to keep fighting, even though they are massively wealthy. usually when you are passionate about your craft, you thrive in it, regardless of the massive money it brings you. top actors have been getting $20+ million a role for many years now, they don't then just stop acting. the money is simply the reward for their passion.
the truth is, conor was never very passionate about fighting. he's always said that he was in it for the money. so it's no surprise that he became less active when the money showed up. but that's not the reason for him losing fights, he's simply past his prime. what's the shame is that all he's doing now is selling wolf tickets. fans should be wiser.

Your fighter I.Q. and first hand experience and connections to some of these guys really is great insight. Where other outlets will say one thing about this loss and what it means for Conor's future, you are spot on and said it perfectly how it really is. Props to Porier, he really deserves a belt shot. Khabib needs to figure out or The UFC needs to figure out what theyre going to do with the belt situation here now. Alot of "What is yet to come?" questions being asked and im excited to see what the future holds. I really still see alot left in Conor, He was in great shape and i still see so much potential that can be unlocked we've still not yet even seen... What happened to Rhonda is now happening to Connor. The game is passing him by. The competition is getting tougher, and the fight game itself is evolving. Dustin has been active this whole time. Connor hasn’t.
True, the calf kick itself is the representation of that evolution. The low calf kick has really been the meta for only the last year or two now. The period which Conor hasn't been very active in. It's like those kicks were not on his radar because he's still stuck in the old meta when he was on his tear. He needs to evolve with the game or hang it up

It's not that complex, Conor can't adjust mid fight. Either he gets you with the left early or he's done

Personally I don’t understand the big fuzz being made about the time lapsed between Connors previous fight and this fight. How long was it between the real King’s last two fights?

Have leg kicks or low calf kicks become too OP in MMA lately ? We saw what happened to Paulo Costa as well. You can practically take someone out of a fight in the first round by incapacitating them with a few well timed and well placed leg kicks.

Let's be honest 99% of people thought Conor would win and Dustin proved everybody wrong... Dustin fans didn't prove anybody wrong because they didn't know what the result would be 100% the only person who proved everybody wrong was Dustin... Hate how people take credit for something somebody else does. Amazing game plan and execution by Dustin 10/10
I can't speak for everyone but the majority of us wanted Connor to win because he brings a lot of fans, excitement and money to the sport.
Dustin and Connor are both warriors. I would have been happy for either one of them.

The stance that got him to conquer the world and with the same stance he KO’ed Dustin with he abandoned it and came in flat footed instead of being light on the feet and wait to counter he came and tried to go toe to toe with one of the best strikers. That was his downfall. He needs his stance back.
