Mark Jackson, Chauncey Billups - both who have been brought up time and time again by Stephen A. - aren't classified as exceptional coaches. Neither of them have the achievements or accolades as a coach to back it up. Dare I say, they're all mediocre regardless of the color of their skin.

yea not sure why he didn't wait to access all his options...the Bucks is definitely gonna be a better situation but also hard to see Bud getting fired if they go all the way...I don't think they will after G1 against the Hawks...They'll still beat the Hawks don't get me wrong but you can't spot the other team a 1 game lead in the finals.

@@aduad they were down 0-2 to the Brooklyn frauds, hawks only a 1 man show, hopefully bud snaps out the dementia and makes adjustments again. Either way win/lose they need a new coach like a sam cassell or chauncey Billups to really be that dynasty they have talent to be.

Brogdon, LeVert, Warren, Sabonis, and Turner is an incredible core that could be a piece away from contending. There also isn’t the pressure to win it all right away.
They need to make a trade though go after PF And a SG T-Wolves will trade Kat give them two first rounders and Turner and Aaron Holiday

He has some unfinished work there. I still remember the season after the '04 championship for my Pistons,Indiana was probably the strongest team in the league. Rick coached the Pistons before Larry Brown came. Anyway,the had 2 legit MVP contenders in my opinion Ron Artest and Jermaine O'Neal. Awesome pg Jamal Tinsley. Al Harington,Stephen Jackson,and ofc Reggie Miller. I still think Pistons should have beaten the Spurs and gone back to back,but if the Malice didn't happen,i don't think anyone was stopping the Pacers.

Max TJ warren was killing!!! Before he got hurt. Brogdon was 50,40,90 a few years ago, sabonis can rebound -shoot-and play multiple positions . They have Levert now and they has a couple more shooters in Doug and McConnel.
Thats a good team, if they could land a big free agent next year cause there's no big ones this year then maybe they could be contenders. Time will tell

Those are all fair points. I am a big Pacers fan and I'm stoked to have him again. He should have had a title the year of the brawl, if that never happened. But the criticisms of the roster and free agency status are accurate. I wish it was a great destination for prospects. They are always one superstar away from the top.

Stephen A actually has a legit point this time. I would have loved to see him in Milwaukee because I think he´d be able to actually take advantage and fully leverage Gianni´s talent. He´s one of the few elite coaches in the game it would be nice to see him with an elite roster. It was wishful thinking. There is no way Rick was going to put more pressure on Mike by putting it out there that he was interested in that job. Mike is under and unprecedented amount of pressure as it is. Anything short of the title and he might be out.
So, this is gonna be Carlisle’s second stint in Indianapolis. The Pacers have good talent, not a championship caliber team, but they’re certainly becoming a middle of the pack team in the east

Firing macmillan was a mistake they slipped defensively from 7th to 14 th Carlisle has to work hard on that end .Particularly , on perimeter 3 D . Theyve moved some pieces around have a young roster and can add some more in draft. Right now he has to look and evaluate what theyve got make sense of that jig saw puzzle . I'm sure they wanted his input on draft needs so the quick hire.

@ Kilika765…if you think about it, if Nate is still with the pacers…the hawks aren’t in the playoffs rn. They were 14-20 with Pierce and we’re bad with him in previous years. As well as he got fired midway through the season. So, they wouldn’t be here right now. With Nate, the pacers could’ve won 41 games. If they get the 5th seed…they’d beat the Knicks. With how Ben played…they’d beat the sixers too. So they’d be in the ECF.

I don't think they were going to be 3 wins from the Finals this year. Most likely would've been bounced in the first round, and if lucky make it out of the first round.

I honestly think brogdan and levert are better than the second and third best players on the hawks. But that’s up for debate. I feel what you’re saying though. My thing with Nate in Indy was…I thought he ran into bad luck. I mean he ran into lebron twice, in which I think were lebron’s two best years, then the next two years he went into the playoffs with his best player not available to play due to injury. And this pacers team to me…and I’m not a pacers fan, but from everything go saw and heard, it seemed as if coaching held them back this past season. I think even with Nate their highest ceiling was the ECF, but that’s with playing the right team, having the right team lose to another team, etc. But I thought they could get there at very best. I definitely think they were better than first rd sweeps. Or losing in the play in game.
