I don’t get Dak. He went 8-8. They were 8-2 in single possession games in 2018, when it was a run heavy offense. In 2019, they lost 7 single possession games. They regressed, when Dak was the focal point of the offense. This team should have easily won 11 games last year. Imagine losing 7 single possession games and having 4 games with ZERO passing TDs. And saying, “Pay me, Jerry!”
All these guys say that Dallas should have sign him to a long term contract. Are you blind they tried to get a five year contract and he only wanted four Yeats so that's Dak fault. Another thing, I saw on a interview with Dak last season and they asked him about getting paid and his answer was I play football for the love of the game not the money. So Dak what happen to the love you said you have because you haven't won the NFC title or a Superbowl so why does he think he is worth that. Y'all say because of his stats stats don't win titles. And they offered him close to 35 million and he turned it down. Point it is about the money not the love of the game. And some people say look what they paid these other guys. valerieash quarterbacks simply provide far more value than any other position. And honestly top quarterbacks make about 30m+, top pass rushers make about 20m. And a team has 4 defensive line men and one quarterback.

I have to comment on this. First point, Dallas tried to sign Dak before last season and the amounts leaked was $33m or so. Second, Jerry has a tendency to overpay his stars, but Dak hasn't signed. This would mean either Jerry doesn't think Dak is a star, or Dak is overpriced. Third, Dak changed agents mid stream. We know Jerry can get pissed and do things on principle. Just look at Jimmy Johnson firing for one. My gut feeling is that Dak and Jerry were very close to a deal, Dak changed agents and numbers and Jerry is pissed. I can't prove it, but with Jerry signing Zeke, Amare and even Jaylen Smith since starting talks with Dak, I have to believe that Dak has changed his original requests after being close to agreement.
If Dak can't light it up with a great offense this season, good luck trying to get what he wants from any team

I’m so tired of hearing about Dak ‘pay me’ Prescott! I’m glad Jerry didn’t give in to him because he’s the type of dude who once he gets paid he’ll be complacent and his play will be safe and throwing the ball away a lot! Watch for this once he does get his overpaid money.
Everyone in sports media sees Dak as a franchise QB. What I have yet to see is these same people ask, "What if Jerry Jones DOESN'T see him as one?" Since 07, not including Dak, 4 other QB's have been given franchise tags (Drew Brees, Matt Cassell, Mike Vick & Kirk Cousins, twice). ONLY Drew Brees ever signed a new contract with the team. Every other one ended up playing somewhere else. I'm thinking that Jerry wants to see what is in the draft either this year or next year in terms of top flight QB's. Don't be shocked if they don't get a deal done and Dak ends up franchised again next year or let go outright.

I really feel like Dak is making a mistake in this whole negotiation. Is it about the money because the truth is he will make more in Dallas because there is no State income tax and he gets so many more endorsement deals being the Cowboys QB. The faster a team can look like a team, the better, I think, especially in light of this worldwide health and economic crisis. And who knows what the NFL will even look like going forward, with bars and restaurants not operating normally and lots and lots of fans dealing with the redefinition of their work lives and weekly routines. And it does remain to be seen how professional sports will be affected by that. So anyone with a years-long contract being offered to them might want to give the edge to signing now rather than later as who knows what later might look like. And surely there is a big place for these leagues in the lives of their fans, just that there might not be the money to sustain the status quo and grow.
I think Jerry Jones is grooming Dak to be Big Ben's replacement. 🤔 The question is if Jerry knows that's what he's doing! 🤣😭🤣
Lol this is not rocket science people. Dallas was always okay with not signing Dak and placing him on the franchise tag because they are not sold on him which is a fair assessment. I don’t care how great of person he is or how much of a leader he is; he is an okay QB. It is just smart from a business standpoint to see what he does under this new head coach before they break the bank and over pay. Not a good situation when the most important player on one of the high profile teams in the NFL cannot come to terms on a contract, it reflects badly on everyone involved with this mess. However it turns out Dak is going to be under tremendous pressure this season to prove he is worth what they pay him.
Why does it reflect badly on anybody? Because the media told you so? This is a contract negotiation, none of this should be public. The only reason to put anything out to the media is to try and manipulate the narrative. If you don't understand that, I hope for your sake, that you're a child.
