The "It's not their fault" argument is such a cop-out. A Double-A team can go undefeated but since they never scheduled anyone tough "it's not their fault", so you just reward them for having no competition? No, same thing for Power 5 team like Clemson. Yes it's not your fault everyone else sucks, but it's also not our fault for recognizing you lack competition. It's no one's "fault", the point is if you want to be the best you have to play the best.

I respect him for saying he will give two small schools from his state a money game. Now go back and look at the scores and answer the question of why did they beat the power 5 schools just as bad and even worse than the small schools? Laugh at the fact that even Alabama couldn't score over 20 points on Clemson. Laugh at the fact that Clemson has won 2 out of the last 3 national titles....beating Alabama both times. Tell me how many schools came out with a win against Bama 2 out of the three times the have played. In this last decade, how many teams defeated Alabama by holding Bama to 14 or less points while scoring 44? Only 1.

FSU had Florida and Miami every year which were elite in the 90s. Finebaum is spewing hot air nothing more. Clemson could win the next 4 titles and he'd still have the same argument. Clemson has just as many high draft picks as OSU and Alabama. Finebaum acts like their roster is akin to South Florida or something. Will be fun to see playoff this year, especially IF Clemson can beat LSU and OSU in back to back weeks.
It's not each year in a vacuum and Paul knows it. If it was Alabama would have been top 15 maybe, the best team they beat all year was the community college of American Samoa. The point is these teams have a history of beating good opponents and so we give them the benefit of the doubt when they have a weak schedule. And if the defending champs goes undefeated they should get the chance to defend their championship.
Dabo's got the easiest job in college football because he's in the ACC playing Virginia for the conference title. Virginia. In football.
