1) No one would take the fight with such short notice: Colby actually came out and was ready to take the fight. 2) Masvidal had 6 days notice/preparation: Masvidal had months to prepare for the fight, he even brought in the best wrestlers and was training well into the last week of June before negotiations broke down. 3) Usman didn’t fight/was toe stomping: How is toe stomping illegal? It takes two to tango. And please check the fight stats. Total strikes: Usman 263/341 (77.1%) Masvidal 88/157 (56.1%). Significant strikes: Usman 94/151 (62.2%) Masvidal 66/125 (52.8%). Takedowns: Usman 5/16 (31.2) Masvidal 0/0 (0%)
I know stats and numbers are hard for the haters. Their guy lost and they can’t take it. The hype train is over. Already Masvidal is running away from taking his next obvious opponent, Colby. Cs Colby will beat him and Masvidal the gravy train will run it’s course. Usman deserves way more respect cs he took on a new opponent with 6 days notice. Every time he beats someone, this same ignorant casuals will have an excuse. Till today, we still hear these people claiming Colby broke his jaw, even though Colby came out and declared he didn’t. And if he did, who broke it in the first place? Please, it’s understandable that people are so jealous and mad their hype guy didn’t win. But fighting isn’t about likeability, it’s about the better fighter.
Dude the majority of those strikes landed were foot stomps, you can land like 10 foot stomps in 3 seconds my dude, he didn't fight instead tried to win on points which is truly fine but this fight it wasn't fine because he did it in a shitty way and let a lot of fans down
Derek Bonin Foot stomp is not counted as a significant strike. That’s why total strike is different from significant strike. Usmans significant strikes were majorly the body blows he was raining on Masvidal while pinning him on the fence. I don’t understand when you say he didn’t fight. Your guy Masvidal was on the back foot all through the fight, never in the center ring. Usman was the one attacking. And again, it takes two to tango. Take downs and body shot and even body kicks. I understand you don’t like the guy and no matter what he did, he wouldn’t get the respect. Remember the Colby fight? He fought toe to toe all round and it’s was a very interesting fight, but Usman haters still came out and criticized him for not having a single take down all night.
