  • Kendrick Perkins and Paul Pierce discuss if they like the Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown's changes to the lineup starting with the decision to move Ben Simmons from a point guard to a forward ahead of the restart of the 2019-20 NBA season. (3;28) The crew reacts to Sacramento Kings' center Richuan Holmes being placed in quarantine for an additional 10 days after leaving the NBA's bubble in Orlando, Florida, to pick up a food delivery.

I personally think the underrated aspect of this is that Shake Milton is becoming the starting PG. He may have been in the rotation for only 2 months but he showed that he can be Philly's best shooter.

But long story short, he didn't make the team's offense better because he couldn't spread the floor. He didn't shoot the ball, even though we saw him do it countless times in practice, his mechanics looked good, too. He just needed to make more attempts in live games. Not sure why he just didn't do it.

Have Al Horford lead the team from a distance on the bench, give Ben and Joel the space, literally and figuratively, on the floor and to lead the team as the true stars of the team. @@dziembaj Draymond does attempt two or three 3s per game but he is averaging less than 30% from 3 over the last 4 seasons. Well below the NBA average. I really want to see Ben attempt 2 corner 3s per game just to keep the opposing D off balance.

But overall, Ben does a lot of other things like Draymond but better. I think Simmons number would be pretty insane if he played with Klay and Curry.

Best move is moving Simmons to PF. It’s easier to find a shooting PG then a shooting PF. he can still operate as the ball handler but atleast they aren’t playing him and another person that can’t really shoot at pf

This is really something I have been saying and I’m glad they did because of that Giannis Antetokounmpo comparison I wanted this move because it makes Philadelphia 76ers in a significantly enhanced ability to win the 2020 NBA Finals. Giannis Antetokounmpo will not be a replicated player as he is that dominant. Yet this move will in my ceiling on this makes Ben Simmons the second best Power Forward in the NBA behind, Giannis Antetokounmpo in the NBA Eastern Conference and perhaps the NBA as well for active players.

I think Ben is going to accept what he’s not and start playing his size. If he plays his size, the sizers gonna do some damage. That’s one big, strong dude right there and so is Joel. If both Joel and Ben are on the low block, you can’t double either. No ones guarding either one on one.

i agree, i like the move. takes simmons OFF the ball and lets him freelance, which makes him and the 6ers more VERSATILE. not only that, but it makes them a DEEPER team for sure. i STILL worry about the SHOOTING and STILL feel like they're gonna get CLOBBERED by the bucks, but brett brown made a SNEAKY solid move here

No the idea is to let Simmons run the floor in transition without the ball unless he gets the rebound and take advantage of his speed in halfcourt he will set screens and work in the post more and be in the dunkers spot at times as well ofc he will still handle the ball some but it won't be as much as you normally see

I seriously find it amazing how much people over-exaggerate position in Basketball....Wasn't Ben Simmons basically the Power Forward(point forward) when Horford moved to the bench and they started Kourkmaz? Does claiming Ben Simmons as a PG or PF somehow change his attributes? Why is this even news? Doesn't matter if Ben is PG, or PF whenever he and Joel are on the court together it's gonna be terrible spacing
