if im dak, i would bring the deal down to just 3 or maybe 2 and fully guarantee the contract. the cowboys want to do the typical team contract thing which is to lock the player up for a long time, frontload the guarantee, which gives teams all the leverage of asking for a restructure or paycut because the salary money is not owed or guaranteed.
this isnt about whether dak deserves it or anything like that. its about how the cowboys screwed this all up.

Prescott is really in the position of leverage. Even if Prescott doesn’t have an elite year he’ll still get about 36-38 million a year whether tagged or not.
