Patricia we need to stop this narrative. LeBron is a 4x MVP and 3x Finals MVP, put some respect on that mans name. Yes he has some finals losses but there are probably two of those series that LeBron probably should have won (‘11 and ‘14). All those other losses no other team in the league would have beat the opposing team anyway so why should we expect a single player to do so ?

Patrick Beverly gets into the heads of leaders on the other team. Paul george is consistent as well. Montrez Harrell is also doing great. @dwade you saying that because the clippers won game 1. Come back on christmas we'll see who needs what. Clippers got no real playmaker and their paint protection is not great. They won't even make the conference finals. And with Playoff Paul they might not make it out the first round.
@dwade Caruso, Bradley, Green, Kuz, Lebron and AD can absolutely cover the perimeter. They've done it all year. Even Dwights shown good footwork covering the wings. Giannis is a total team coverage no matter what. For the Clippers you can let Kawhi go for 40 if you can clamp Lou Will and PG. They just not as deep as people think. Trying to clamp either Bron or AD means leaving one of them wide open all game.

Agreed. Esp the wing defender topic which I agree. One weakness of Lakers is their defense of the 3 point line.
The improvement in the defense has been mostly due to the coaching staff and the scheme that they thought was best. Last year was more of a push the pace team with younger players and this year its more of a grind it out slow it down and defend with more vets and a different philosophy with the coaching change.

What Vogel has done with this team so early in the season on the defensive end is amazing. I was expecting a huge improvement on defense, and I’ve still been surprised by how good we look. Vogel will win coach of the year. I just hope Lebron doesn’t run out of gas. We’re gonna need Playoff ‘Bron come playoff time.

In order to be a good defensive team you have to learn to defend as a unit. Most of these players know how to do that at an elite level. Howard has had to carry a franchise. AD has had to carry a franchise. LeBron has had to carry a franchise. McGee played on championship teams. Danny Green player on championship teams. Rondo played on championship teams. Caruso, Caldwell-Pope, and Kuz are learning how to be champions. This team is legit.

big lakers fan here, listen this team definitely has flaws, for some reason they still struggle against zone defense, especially against Dallas (who absolutely picked the Lakers apart) guys like Troy Daniels/Quinn Cook/Jared Dudley are unplayable because of their defense even tho they can shoot threes. I feel like Vogel needs to play Danny Green more, but Avery Bradley being out has definitely hurt the defense. Alex Caruso has been amazing on both ends and deserves playing time. Rondo has played well to but him being the third guy behind AD/Bron has hurt Kuz. KUZ NEEDS TO GET GOING

Vogel is easily the 2nd best coach LeBron has had. Maybe it shouldn’t be a surprise the Lakers are playing as well as the 2012-2013 Heat, at least for the regular season (though I fully expect them to at least get to the WCF).
