    My mans is 24 and he said this previous year he started reading defenses pre-snap

      It doesn’t work like that..... of course he says that, it’s the “correct” media response but a lot of players peaked early. I don’t know if he can or will get better i could care less, I’m just pointing it out that you shouldn’t be so naive.

    He probably meant limiting mistakes and making better reads to stay effective and dominate. I knew what he meant. He's hella confident though which is good but bad for opposing defenses.

    Sounds like he was just being humble in a way. Mahomes never says he's the best or at his best in interviews and he most likely never will. People would be saying he was arrogant and risking being dangerously cocky with not trying to improve if he ever did.

      Definitely would not consider it cocky if he said something to the effect of "I can make some improvements here and there, but feel I'm playing as good as I can right now". Honestly I would consider that to be more humble.

    Pat Mahoney can clean up his footwork, defensive reads and work on timing with his receivers. As good as he has been, his mechanics and his QB IQ can improve- SCARY!

    If you listen to Tony Romo's comment during the ACF Championship, he said Mahomes' play had taken a step up the final weeks of the season. What if Mahomes' play improves another step or two? It isn't hard to figure out what Mahomes meant.

      If KC defense drops back down to worst in the league he will have 50 again, Mahomes can turn super saiyan when he needs to, but he understands that maximizing his base form is better for his team.

      @@CHIEFS_DYNASTY_ year of 50, averaged 3+ TDs per game. Year after 50, averaged less than 2. Numbers don't lie. Once teams got some film, he was much less dominant. The year of 50 was the best he's gonna get. Stay butthurt, nerd.

    Michael Jordan's scoring dropped bc of coaches, bc the team started building and putting better players around him, he didn't have to do all the scoring. It's not bc he got worse, it's bc exactly as mahomes is saying, jordan became a better player

    He meant that theres alot more about the game in general he feels like he still can learn. He was talkin about the mental side of the game. He said he didnt really understand how to read defenses until halfway thru last season. AND HE WAS AN MVP THAT YEAR. U dont think theres still more he can learn? U think hes peaked at 24 years old? Thats it? He'll never get any better or understand more or gain any more knowledge??

    Mahomes will be great until they take his weapons away like the Packers did with Rodgers or Seattle did with Russell Wilson. Mahomes can talk it up until it's time to do it with half of what he got right now. Aron Rodgers and Russell Wilson would both have 4 or 5 rings each if they had the talent that Mahomes has right now for a extensive period of time.

      It's either that or his defense is subpar. Usually, the teams that win are balanced on both sides of the ball. Kansas City's defense is very conditional. Otherwise, they wouldn't have to be coming back from deficits all the time.

    Wilbon's Jordan comparison is weak... It's not that Jordan couldn't have scored 37 points a game... Jordan continued to get better, he just grew to prioritize winning over scoring with other aspects of play.
