You do realize, the places we lost in the off-season, we upgraded the area we sucked at right? Stopping the run has been our problem since the Jeff Fisher era. Chunk plays. We got guys who can now do both and aren’t just edge rushers. You’re literally hitting the panic button acting like our defense is gonna be made up of some scrubs
Chris Jones definitely deserved to get payed, young actually gets sacks and affects every level of the defense.

Around players he more than just sacks
Mundito Lewis Donald has 15 forced fumbles, 72 sacks, 117 TFL, 312 combined tackles. How is it, he’s “better all around” but Aaron has more sacks in the same amount of time. 86 less tackles as an interior lineman, and more TFL? Aaron does more than just sack as well. He gets in the back field more than anybody, gets doubled and triple teamed more than anybody which opens up opportunities for teammates. He also hits the qb more than Mack does. In the same amount of seasons, Donald has 173 qb hits to Mack’s 116. The only way he’d be remotely “better all around” is because of the opportunities being an OLB/ edge rusher.
Btw. How is it, if he’s “better all around” Donald was unanimously selected to the all decade team, and the all pro team in 2018( first player ever) and Mack wasn’t? 🤔 Such a mystery
Aaron Donald has not changed the game..Nobody is looking for the next Aaron Donald. Hes a generational player and there is no expectation to find, "an Aaron Donald like player."

If ur QB can scramble they can avoid the edge guy by scrambling in the opposite direction he’s lined up on. Like what Mahomes did to Bosa in the 4th he made him almost useless. If the pressure is coming up the middle ur edge rushers can contain the edge while that interior guy forces em out. It’s why the Rams are one of the only teams that can consistently sack Russell Wilson.

Whenever he wasn’t out for an injury
Through watts first 6 seasons he has 4 more sacks than Aaron does. 76-72. He had 67 more combined tackles. 16 more TFL. 41 more qb hits. And the same amount of FF. I’d say it’s pretty even in terms of production. Watt is an over grown man beast, Donald is undersized for his position. He’s still getting doubles and triples every snap. And he’s still producing and getting better. DE really only has to worry about 2 guys, Donald has to worry about an entire side of a line 😂😂
