- At the 2019 NBA Awards, Giannis Antetokounmpo takes home the honor for MVP and was emotional during his speech when he thanked the Milwaukee Bucks for taking a chance and believing in him. He also showed emotion when discussing his brothers and parents, saying they are his heroes. He finishes his speech by saying this MVP award is just the beginning and his ultimate goal is a championship.

True inspiration to me. GA was the one who got me into basketball. Watching the bucks win all the time got me off my ass and got me start to playing basketball and local courts and play for my school team.. Living in Milwaukee and seeing your team rise like that is one of the greatest things ever.

Those tears represent said journey and I cannot help but to cry when I see him do so.
