It’s the coaches job to put things into place when injuries happen...look at what the saints did this year with Brees on the sideline...didn’t miss a beat. Ron River doesn’t have what it takes to get Carolina over the hump...playoff appearances alone won’t cut it.

There’s something to be said about loyalty and ownership giving you a chance and the resources to be better. Sean Peyton went 7-9 for 3 straight seasons and the Saints stood by him. Ron has lost 2 DCs in back to back years to getting jobs (which means you’re doing SOMETHING right) and the defense was downhill from there. Should’ve invested more in the front office and better coaches that way he could go back to being more hands off.
Im not a cam fan but dang he did sacrifice his body. All these mobile quarterback needs to follow cam career to understand this sport in detail.

Marty has three playoff teams from 2002-2012 and two straight losing seasons since returning. Marty teams haven't won a playoff game since Chicago when Smitty had over 200 yards following the 2005 season. Dave built the 2017 playoff team before leaving and Marty fucked up that roster to.

Stephen A. is right. A new owner need to.establish what culture he want for the team. What wrong with aiming for number one? From seeing and hearing what Tepper want out of his team is to win and be a contender each year. He won't settle for the Panthers to mediocre each season.
Whichever team hires Rivera also needs to add some highly intelligent coordinators to support him. He will get the team motivated and playing hard but that's about it. When it comes to making adjustments to the gameplan on the fly; saying that he is lacking in this department is an understatement.
Cam can go to the chargers. Would love to have him be the qb

Cam is the perfect Scape Goat for Belichick so they have no reason to change.
Steven A. is right here. A HC needs to have the foresight to develop players beyond his starters to keep a team relevant. Cam going down hurts but it is no excuse. He was there 9 years and had plenty of time to get a guy and develop him behind Cam but didn't. Rivera's number one excuse for his recent failure was attrition.... I say the attrition was on him for not trusting his younger players and allowing them to develop.
Ron Rivera did great early on in Carolina but when you miss the playoffs 3 times in 4 years it doesn't sit well when your expected to win. I think the owner made the right decision to fire him. Panthers lost 7 straight games after a 6-2 start last year and lost 4 straight games after a 5-3 start. That can't happen. I'm sure Ron will find another job but inconsistency doesn't go well long term in the NFL especially when you've been there 9 seasons. How Garrett is still with Dallas is beyond me cause he's never been to an NFC championship and he's in his 10th season.

with Mike Tomlin, the Rooney family don't fire coaches. They had 3 coaches since 1969. Noll, Cowher and Tomlin.
There's no reason to fire Mike Tomlin. He's the second best head coach in the NFL.

Has anyone of the Panthers ever said they intend to get rid of Cam? Any indication? Any statement leading towards it? NO. Tepper said they make a decision when he's healthy. He will be healthy by Training Camp. He will start the season and we will all witness whether he's done or can be hi old self. Tepper has seen how he can look like when healthy, 6-2 last year with Cam playing as good as he has ever had! This roster was supposed to content, there is way too much talent to go into rebuild mode, so why move on from Cam and take away the chance to succeed next year. Cam could return like Luck did, who knows? All just assumptions. Nobody ever dared to say the Colts should get rid off Andrew Luck, everybody wanted him back healthy. So, after everything he has done for us, let Cam come back and see how things shape out.
This is why i don't watch shows like this. Just a few weeks ago Ryan Clark said Cam needs and deserves to come back to Panthers because of his abilities but now he saying get rid of him. Just like a few weeks ago Max said Rivera needs to go; now that he gone Max says it wasn't the right move and not fair...smh

@@charlescooks9360 6-10 the year after the Superbowl loss. NFL record 9 fewer wins the year after losing the big game. It was very immediate. Going 11-5 in 2017 and starting 6-2 before finishing 7-9 last year were aberrations.

Half of these analysts and segments are kind of self contradicting. Even to us ppl who watch football. If you’re saying Cam is done, washed up, won’t be the same Cam again then why would you suggest he needs to go to Chicago or SD? With a “washed Cam” wouldn’t that team be in the same situation?? My point is for most ppl their is a subliminal hate for whatever reason and they just spout foolishness out of their mouth lol. If he’s done or washed just say he needs to retire. If he can still play but you just don’t want him on your team for internal reasons then just say it. That makes a little more sense.
