Iowa teams rarely have the best players but Iowa always plays tough no matter the sport. This time Iowa may have the best player on the floor and the whole team is tough. It feels uncomfortable as an Iowa fan to have this much hope, but here we are. Go Iowa.
The weird thing is between Keegan Murray, Luka Garza, and Megan Gustafson, they actually have had some of the best college basketball players in recent years.

The quality of deep teams in this tourney is unprecedented to me. I don't know id Clark & Chizano can pull it off much further, SC looks unbeatable, UConn is out there. Clark pushes that ball & dishes like no woman I've ever seen. She's starting to amass an impressive resume' of records and has a year to go.

I’ve been keeping an eye on what I deem the “big 3” in CC, HVL and Bueckers and the thing I notice just like they do every HS player going to college is that they take away their “swagger” and replace it with fundamental basketball. Part of the reason I doubt women’s basketball every truly will take off…..

She would get dominated by better athletes with more size as would any woman. It's simply a matter of genetics. The same would be true for top females in any sport where athleticism can be a big differentiator.
On defense she would be a huge liability as players would easily shoot over or go around her and dunk. They would also be significantly faster in transition. She gets a lot of points going to the basket and shooting free throws after she gets fouled doing that. That part of her game would pretty much be taken away.
I'm sure she could still occasionally make long shots or great passes, but that wouldn't be enough to compensate for simply not being close to NBA players' athleticism and size. And with less to worry about than is the case for female players playing against her NBA players would likely find a way to reduce the effectiveness of those parts of her game too.
Sports like swimming or track that have mixed events with male and female athletes competing at the same time are a good illustration of this. Any professional male that is on the track or in the pool at the same time as the top females will make them appear slow by comparison.
I'm from Iowa and am a huge fan, but still have to keep it real. Competing against women she is phenomenal and that's plenty good for me.

@@bryantthompson6817 Every league figures every athlete out, that's a given. Point is I feel she will make the necessary adjustments as all good athletes do in order to succeed. She has the IQ and ball skills for basketball so she'll be just fine.
