Wir sind die letzte Generation, die auf der Strasse gespielt hat, die Erste, die Video-Spiele gespielt hat und wir sind die Letzten, die Songs… aus dem Radio auf Kassetten aufnahmen, wir sind die Pioniere der Walkman-Zeit. Wir haben gelernt, wie man den Videorekorder bedient, spielten mit Atari, Super Nintendo und Game Boy. Wir sind die Generation der Thunder Cats, Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, Transformers. Wir lebten ohne Handy, fuhren mit drei Personen auf einem Fahrrad kilometerweit weil Mami uns nicht durch die Gegend chauffierte. Wir hatten keine 99 Fernsehsender, Flachbildschirme, Surround Sound, MP3, iPod, Facebook oder Twitter ... aber dennoch hatten wir eine tolle Zeit! ich vermisse diese Zeit sehr :(

I have the feeling that today everything is so cool, that is, people are not as relaxed as they were 20 years ago. Back then everything was somehow different (also in terms of mood), and that was also reflected in the music. Today almost all kids / teenagers are sitting and adults on public transport in front of their smartphones / tablets chat on Facebook and the like and don't even notice anything. It's a shame that it has developed like this! And that's exactly why I'm damn proud of being born in the early 80s (I was built in 1981) and having spent all of my youth in the 90s, because this decade has shown that one can (even if it is very practical today ) can survive without smartphones, tablets, Facebook, Twitter etc. Songs like United (especially the beginning when the chorus starts), or by DJ Bobo, 2 Unlimited, Haddaway, Masterboy, Snap, East 17 give me goosebumps and feelings that cannot be explained. Miss this crazy decade !!!!

Decades long confrontation of east and west and the real danger of total nuclear anihilation had ended like from one moment the another. We felt all so free, so much peace vibes. All people from Eastern Europe came to the west, people from the west visited the east for the first time. We saw, no enemy anymore, we saw only lovely people. We were happy. The positive vibes kept on all over the 90s. The love parades of Berlin. That meant much more than young people dancing, taking drugs. It was peace and happiness, positive vibes. We thought, there will be peace forver. Little did we know, what the future will bring. 9/11 made the definitive change to the worst again. How we were that silly, how the people of the world would accept new animosity in the world. I feel sorrow for the young generation, now and guilty that we lost it. Anyway like the words of this song, it represents to me the longing of a unified humanity than any other. Thank god for the life I was able to live.

War ne geile Zeit. Heute ist man schon glücklich, wenn man wieder einen Tag im besten Deutschland aller Zeiten überlebt hat.
I have the feeling that today everything is so cool, that is, people are not as relaxed as they were 20 years ago. Back then everything was somehow different (also in terms of mood), and that was also reflected in the music. Today almost all kids / teenagers are sitting and adults on public transport in front of their smartphones / tablets chat on Facebook and the like and don't even notice anything. It's a shame that it has developed like this!
And that's exactly why I'm damn proud of being born in the early 80s (I was built in 1981) and having spent all of my youth in the 90s, because this decade has shown that one can (even if it is very practical today ) can survive without smartphones, tablets, Facebook, Twitter etc.
Songs like United (especially the beginning when the chorus starts), or by DJ Bobo, 2 Unlimited, Haddaway, Masterboy, Snap, East 17 give me goosebumps and feelings that cannot be explained.
Miss this crazy decade !!!!

Die verdammten 90 Jahren, die wahren so was von schön. Discos, Partys und kein Geld im der Hose, aber trotzdem sehr viel Spaß gemacht,
Ausbildung, erstes Auto, erste feste Freundin , jedes Wochenende in drei Discotheken... Mit dem Kumpel durch Deutschland gefahren, einfach nachts los. Egal wohin. Das war ne geile Zeit. Auch ohne Handy.

R.I.P. Prince Ital Joe. Popmusic always reflected the Spirit of Time (Zeitgeist in German) to express everything the generation felt about life, about the world. In that time, the wall did fall. Decades long confrontation of east and west and the real danger of total nuclear anihilation had ended like from one moment the another. We felt all so free, so much peace vibes. All people from Eastern Europe came to the west, people from the west visited the east for the first time. We saw, no enemy anymore, we saw only lovely people. We were happy. The positive vibes kept on all over the 90s. The love parades of Berlin. That meant much more than young people dancing, taking drugs. It was peace and happiness, positive vibes. We thought, there will be peace forver. Little did we know, what the future will bring. 9/11 made the definitive change to the worst again. How we were that silly, how the people of the world would accept new animosity in the world. I feel sorrow for the young generation, now and guilty that we lost it. Anyway like the words of this song, it represents to me the longing of a unified humanity than any other. Thank god for the life I was able to live.
