Im pretty sure the writers, producers, and actors themselves know that this drama is basically a censored BL. You forget Korea is a very conservative country that has banned MVs(I saw somewhere that a winner MV was banned from playing in public because of Homoerotic connotations) and shows from appearing mainstream if they have BL as the main of the show. That being said, the show obviously portrays them as having sexual and romantic attraction to one another. I mean seriously, the amount of times Yohan just touches Gaon for the heck of it, the way he loves to tease him. Not to mention the fact that their relationship has no actual label on the show. Even though you would call them bros or allies, Gaon never uses Banmal(comfortable way of talking in Korean) on Yohan. His words are always in a respectful manner.

I was so frustrated the writer was giving us all of the BL vibes in this show and not actually giving us BL show. This could have been such a great BL because most of them are about love and their struggles which I enjoy very much not gonna lie, but with this intense plot in The Devil Judge, that BL would have a *chef's kiss*
I'm pretty sure their relationship is queercoded, the creator has kind of spoken about the connotations of their relationship and it seems everyone involved is pretty "in the know" about it. Korea is rather conservative, they censor a lot, and the drama would have be affected if it were any more overt (as if it could get more lol), most likely. So all the elements are there, I would say it basically already is a BL.

I saw some of BL actors' interviews.. They said that acting like you like another man is easier compared to acting like lovers with the opposite secc. Probably one of the reasons bromance looks more romantic compared to the romance itself ๐ค
