- For the very first time, we're giving you an exclusive look at the complete F-22 Demo profile flown by Maj. Josh "Cabo" Gunderson. The F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team performs precision aerial maneuvers at airshows across the world to demonstrate the unique capabilities of the world's premier 5th generation fighter aircraft. The team also performs with the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation to showcase modern day fighter jets flying in formation with World War II, Korean, and Vietnam era aircraft.

The team is stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. In March 2007, the team participated in its debut air show at Tyndall Air Force Base. Since then, the team has performed more than 250 demonstrations across the world.

Saw one of these at the Reno Air Show a few years back. If I hadn't seen this aircraft's maneuvers with my own eyes I would swear they were impossible. One was where the plane went into a slow vertical climb and then just STOPPED and HOVERED NOSE UP. As in ZERO vertical movement. Absolutely astounding...
This thing would still get out maneuvered by a su-35. That jet makes it look effortless. This jet just seems like it really struggling. They got some catching up to do

Got to see an F-22 demo in SF. Absolutely insane. He was able to do most of the maneuvers in what seemed like the radius of a baseball stadium.

Seeing this thing in action while sailing and swimming in Lake Michigan at the 50th Annual Chicago Air & Water Show was a one of a kind experience I'll never forget. It takes all the laws of physics that apply to other planes and completely disregards them. It was like watching a UFO just slowly hover and rotate around defying gravity, before blasting off in a vertical climb and disappearing beyond the clouds.
Imagine being one of the pilots who get to fly an aircraft like this. They’re apex predators in the sky.

@@simonrano8072 Male lions are ousted from the pride at the age of one or even below that, they have to fend for themselves, hunt and kill for their survival. Only 1 in 4 makes it. Then they have to wone a pride and that includes years and years of fighting. When they eventually do that, they need to protect the pride, fight against hynea packs, very often he fights them like 1 on 20, 30 or even fucking more. Hunting wise males help when the pride hunts the most dangerous preys, the biggest and meanest. Lionesses don't need at smaller and faster prey, he's to big and to noticeable from the distance, because of the maine.
I love how the F22 has the unobstructed view canopy like the F-16.
Our boy flies one of these and he absolutely loves it!

I live two minutes from where these beauties take off each day so I've witnessed some of they maneuvers first hand. The F-22 is one of my favorite birds, the other being the now retired SR-71. ♥️
I saw lots of SR-71 stuff - I worked tankers at Beale AFB. Been in the boom pod too, watching Blackbirds get refueled.

WOW! That is so bad ass. The camera keeping perspective while the pilot and plane roll around the axis is just phenomenal. Having just watched the F35, the F22 seems to be well without peer.

I thought your first inside the cockpit and the hyperlapse videos were great, then you guys came up with this! Seeing everything at true speed is the best, and nice touch with the graphics to inform and educate about particular maneuvers. Here is hoping the season will restart and you guys can get back on the road again.

Bill Yost yep they are the best but time will tell if the f22 can hold up to the f15 because we have used the f15 since the early 70's an we have never lost one plane to enemy fire as of now no other plane can hold a candle to that record an this includes all the f15 world wide not just ours pretty hard to bet the f22 has some big shoes to fill

Saw one of these beasts at an air show a few years ago. Vertical climbs, cobras, pedal turns... it was a sight to behold, especially when it did a heritage flight alongside a P-51 Mustang.
My first encounter with these things was years ago in Hawaii, but I've always appreciated the F-22 when others doubted it. I personally like the F-35 more though, and if I do end up joining the Air Force to become a pilot, I'd fight hard to become a pilot for that jet. :)
That's my absolute dream, and my biggest motivation to get my education done...
If your the right age could be sitting in it's replacement fighter which Lockheed claims is even better then the raptor NGAD.

No it wasnt. The first flight of the raptor was in 1990. Therefor its 80's tech.

Developed as the f22 in 1986 first drawn prototype. First prototype one flew in 1990. But later in development some changes were make to tail rudders few other changes but yea mid 80s design
We will never see it, its in orbit.
Su57 was also USSR development, Russia just finished it.

Since I live 1.5 miles directly south of the LAFB runway across the water. I get to see your team fly over my house frequently. I also have been lucky enough to have first Eagles and Raptors of the 1st Fighter Wing Land right over my car when landing to the east. As the son of a Army Air Corp Veteran and a classmate of 2 former USAF fighter pilots, the incredible feeling of joy when I see these magnificent aircraft and knowing the team effort required to make it happen cannot be adequately put into words. Thank and continued prayers for all of our military and first responders safety.
